SUMMARY

Under minimum supervision, performs a wide range of sales and support duties for the Sales Directors, Sales team members, and Brokers Sales Representatives. Provides sales team with product information, samples and literature, maintains records, makes targeted cold-calls to potential customers and generates reports and leads for the Sales Team and Rep Firms.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs a wide range of sales and support duties for the Sales Directors and Sales team members, requiring a high-level understanding of business objectives for the assigned sales divisions. Provides sales team and Reps Firms with product information, samples and literature. Assists with preparation of sales presentations when necessary. Maintains and updates Outside Sales/Rep Firm lists.

  • Contacts potential customers through targeted cold-calls, generates leads, promotes up-sell opportunities as appropriate and manages new customer account set-up in database. Assists with qualifying new customers for direct purchase or distributor referral. May attend trade shows in conjunction with sales team members.

  • Provides information regarding product tests, engineering drawings and samples to sales team and Reps upon request. Conducts simple internet research on potential clients and competition to categorize new accounts between divisions.

  • Responsible for promptly answering incoming telephone calls and emails in a professional manner. Provides the sales team with excellent service and maintains sales team and Reps scorecards. Liaison between Outside Sales team/Reps and Directors, communicating appropriate key information

  • Creates and updates custom reports and presentations including, but not limited to, sales recaps, sales activity by region/industry, trending and ordering patterns, rolled-up call reports highlighting account activities and opportunities, commission reports and production/sales reports using Query Builders and various Microsoft applications.

  • Coordinates information for catalogue layouts

  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred and/or a minimum of two years' experience in a fast-paced office or sales environment preferred

  • Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent customer service, organizational and follow-up skills.

  • Must be proficient with Word, Excel, Sales Force.com and other appropriate software. SAP experience preferred.

  • Trade show experience preferred; must have the ability to travel occasionally on an as-needed basis.

  • Ability to read CAD drawings helpful, but not required

  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.

  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
