Primary Responsibilities:
Provide a link between sales/quoting/new business and the controlling function.
Monitors and reviews RFQ activity for new business against the company financial metrics.
Supports the Sales Team during financial reviews of new business RFQ’s.
Prepares cost break-downs for customers as required.
Supports estimating/quoting group concerning questions regarding rates and inputs within the quote model.
Prepares business plans for new plants or extension of existing plants.
Reviews and approves financial metrics for new awarded business and ECR’s (ex. Margins, Tooling/Capital requirements).
Evaluates program financials versus metrics with program managers at key program milestone dates.
Leads post audit launches with controllers and program managers and report findings to appropriate individuals.
Responsible for preparing all cost center rates and surcharges for tender calculations. This will involve direct involvement with plant controllers and understanding the various aspects of the work centers and how they are costed (to be updated/reviewed at least annually.
Track major programs (i.e. that meet requirements for sales controlling involvement) throughout the program build to ensure objectives are met up to and after SOP.
Reviews and approves program budget requests.
Supports review of monthly Tooling cash in/out requirements with program managers and controllers.
Ensures that official rules for new business (sales controlling rules including GSM, NPV, etc.) are adhered to.
Work with external cost estimators/quoting group to ensure that quote model inputs are understood and working correctly. Provide continuous feedback to quoting group to ensure that quoting discrepancies are not repeated.
Lead education of key users on how the quote model works and how data is to be managed for input.
Supports education of sales controlling function across the company.
Supports mergers and acquisitions – due diligence, etc.
Supports annual external audit (as required).
Exercises judgement on threshold of costs that need to be brought to the attention of the different levels of management and proper classification of different elements of cost and expenses
Accountable in areas of the accuracy in gathering and presenting financial information to internal & external users
Establishes and maintains relationships in all departments, as well as external auditors
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in automotive environment
Ideally over 7+ years of related sales controlling, quoting RFQs, program financials, audits, etc. as it relates to the experience and responsibilities outline above
Experience maintaining standard costs in a computerized environment in the automotive industry
Strong attention to detail skills to maintain accuracy of financial records
Experience assessing various levels of risks concerning financial objectives
Advanced MS Excel knowledge
Required Education:
University Degree in Business/Commerce or Engineering
