Sales Communications Specialist

Position Summary:

Cigna is seeking a proactive self-starter and experienced communications strategist to join the Medicare sales team. The Communications Specialist must be a critical thinker, intuitive, and quick on his or her feet. The Communications Specialist understands business strategies and relationship building, has strong interpersonal skills, and is expected to continually look for creative ways to help the department achieve growth objectives. The Communications Specialist is responsible for delivering clear, inspiring and engaging internal and external communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify critical opportunities to communicate to internal and external audiences and ensure consistency of messages.

  • Will develop communication on behalf of segment sales executives and sales managers, while collaborating with segment Business Communications and Enterprise Sales Communications.

  • Manage a communications calendar and content pipeline to ensure continual flow of success stories, business priorities, new tools and resources, and major initiatives within the department.

  • Manage and write a variety of executive communications for the growth officer including presentations, newsletters, speeches, etc.

  • Plan, write and/or edit content for key internal channels such as town halls, weekly newsletters, critical employee communications and annual product launch initiatives.

  • Conduct preparation for presentations and rehearsals, and be on-site day of the event to manage logistics and handle executive needs (may require travel).

  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.

  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement utilizing research, feedback, and training.

  • Remain current with communications trends, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or marketing preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with 1-3 years writing and editing experience (corporate/executive communications preferred)

  • Superb critical thinking skills and the ability to take a concept from ideation and strategy to execution autonomously

  • Strong business acumen and healthcare knowledge is a plus

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to formulate clear and concise executive and strategic messages to internal and external audiences from complex topics

  • Must quickly learn to adapt writing to different voices and styles

  • Resourceful in gathering information from across the organization

  • Comfortable multi-tasking

  • Extremely organized with unfailing attention to detail

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • High level of comfort/ease interacting with all levels of the organization

  • Professional and executive presence conducive to working with senior leadership

  • Experience working in a highly-matrixed, deadline-sensitive environment

  • Comfortable working with ambiguous scenarios with the ability to pivot directions as needed

ENTERPRISE MARKETING DIRECTOR — Job Description OBJECTIVE of ENTERPRISE MARKETING DIRECTOR Critical Enterprise leadership role: Drives development and delivery of integrated marketing & communications plans across omni-channel ecosystem for Cigna's highest priority initiatives. This position will provide overall strategic direction, guidance and definition of the communication solutions delivered internally and externally that maximize Cigna's products and position in the market and to fuel growth opportunity. Responsibilities: * Provides primary direction and leadership in Marketing & Communications for Cigna Global Enterprise, across divisions including Commercial, Health Services and International * Guides the enterprise on strategic marketing communications to strengthen brand trust and drive measurable impact for the business * Develop and deliver integrated marketing & communications plans across omni-channel ecosystem for Cigna Enterprise Initiatives including Global Brand Campaigns, Thought Leadership, Sponsorship Integration * Leads cross functional team including internal and external agencies, COEs, Legal/Compliance, SME partners, division business partners (USBM, Health Services, International), Digital * Maximize ROI for Cigna's corporate/Brand investments (Advertising, Sponsorship, PR, etc.) by pulling through the messaging & assets across multi-channel ecosystem for B2B, B2C, and B2B2C audiences * Deploy deep understanding the impact of different types of programs/strategies/messaging and content throughout the customer journey to help accelerate the buying decision and support the entire customer lifecycle: from acquisition to advocacy. * Leverage data and insights to refine and optimize go to market plans to improve the customer experience and drive greater customer engagement while achieving key business outcomes. * Develop integrated approach to campaign measurement, define metrics and deliver reporting in partnership with sales effectiveness, media/search & social teams * Apply an outside-in approach to the creation and integration of communication materials that will contribute to success. * Assess audience factors, including competitive landscape, client/customer research and insights and unmet needs to develop innovative communication plans. * Provide coaching and support to a team of direct reports to maximize individual potential as well as business results * Develop the vision and infrastructure to maximize the effectiveness of the team. * Develop strategy that delivers an efficient, results driven communication approach. * Execute programs and initiatives in support of enterprise marketing, branding and product objectives. * Evolve strategic value by assessing operational effectiveness, establishing stakeholder impact assessment process and establishing standard operating procedures. QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS * 10-15+ years experience, health care industry a plus * Bachelors Degree; MBA or Masters Degree in related field preferred * Experienced communication professional, agency experience preferred * Strategic thinker: Ability to identify strategic needs, with little or no direction, resource key projects, and translate strategies into actions * Organizational agility: ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment * Influencer: team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrix environment.
