L8 Senior Space Optimization Analyst

Location: TX, Chicago, or White Plains NY, flexible locations will be considered pending divisional focus

Exciting opportunity to join a team focused on leading beverage cold vault transformation with focus on Circle K. This role reports into the Senior Category Leadership Manager, Circle K for North America Beverages (NAB).

  • Support Account Sales, Space Optimization, and Category Leadership teams to develop, support, and execute space projects for Small Format Customers

  • Create "fact-based selling" Beverage planograms utilizing critical account data and category insights to drive the shelf

  • Work directly with Circle K or other assigned key customers to create planograms that align to their corporate and PepsiCo's aligned strategy

  • Support, develop, and maintain the automation process of beverage planograms

  • Work with the entire Space Optimization & Transformation organization to support tool and process development for success

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with Category Leadership team using objective detailed analysis and insights development

  • Ensure continual training and development to enhance business knowledge and analytical skills

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 2-3 years of experience in Retail, Sales, and/or Category Management

  • 2-3 years of Space Planning software experience (JDA or EYC Apollo) preferred

  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Office, with demonstrated intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills necessary

  • Experience with analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.

  • IRI knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Good Knowledge of product merchandising or shelf management (either Salty Snacks or Beverage preferred)

  • Good Teamwork skills: possess group facilitation skills

  • Good Communication skills: ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely

  • Good Leadership skills: ability to influence activities of individual team members towards goals

  • Good Planning skills: capable of managing major projects simultaneously

  • Able to establish and attain high standards for self; able to make decisions and solve problems

  • Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Job Description The primary responsibility of the Category Leadership Analyst is to enable Kraft Heinz and the customer to grow category sales to provide objective category expertise and deliver the best possible product assortment, pricing, merchandising and shelving recommendations. This position develops solutions and activates Department/Category roadmaps at retail to drive the development and integration of consumer, shopper and retailer strategies. The Category Leadership Analyst leverages category, customer and market knowledge to localize the department/category standards to maximize category and Kraft Heinz sales. He/she gains customer alignment by developing and delivering insights-based category selling stories and maintains an on-going dialogue with the customer regarding results and recommended strategies. Leading Customer Category Activation * Understanding Category Roadmap * Provides input into customer category strategies and plan * Develops assortment, pricing, promotion, and shelving recommendations aligned to customer and Kraft Heinz strategies and plans * Collaborates with retailer and Kraft sales to deliver activation calendar * Identifies issues, opportunities, and recommended strategic actions by conducting 4P market analyses of category for retailer and account team * Develops recommendations based on consumer, supplier, marketplace and retailer assessments * Conducts annual category reviews and periodic assessments * Manages the planogram development and assessment of shelf performance against objectives /strategies Business Activations * Act as category, shopper and market expert to the Kraft sales team * Develops and utilizes category & shopper insights as the basis to drive Retailer and Kraft Category sales * Analyzes various types of data, including retailer, syndicated, panel, loyalty card data, to identify business issues & opportunities and relates them potential solutions for the category and Kraft Heinz * Supports new item plans and retail activation * Activates Category Roadmap with Sales team at the customer-level * Develops sales presentations for the sales team utilizing a category perspective * Collaborates with account management and shopper marketing team to deliver Roadmap activation * Provides Sales Team with analytical and technical support to develop insights into issues and opportunities Planogram Updating * Acts as the expert on Space Management software * Finalizes common planogram based on agreed upon project objectives and BU Standards * Develops and maintains alternate versions of common planogram * Revises planograms with optimal assortment to include new and discontinued items * Product Assortment * Identifies key metrics and methodology to conduct assortment analysis by category and brand * Targets items for deletion, addition, and retention based upon duplication/variety criteria * Develops the most effective product assortment based on agreed upon parameters * Confirms that assortment fits in planogram Other Job Related Activities * Responds to Sales team requests * Maintains data and product images * Engages customer on shelving strategies, planogram alignment and implementation details * Engage in the process of communication to 3rd party in regards to implementation * Conducts Annual Planning and Reporting * Develops Monthly Reports * Provides appropriate skill training development to improve the capability of the team Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required * 2 years experience as a Category Leadership or Sales Analyst, Shelf & Assortment Manager or other related job Kraft Heinz is an EEO employer – Minorities/Women/Vets/Disabled and other protected categories.
