Our integrated approach allows our clients to understand and engage with high schoolers, college students, and young professional through behavioral insights, experiential marketing, digital strategy, physical activations, e-commerce solutions, and exclusive partnerships.

The Role:

We are looking for an aspiring sales professional to join our growing team of Millennial and Gen Z marketing enthusiasts. As a New Business Associate, you will support the R&B sales organization, as well as develop new skills and experience with the goal of becoming an R&B sales team member with your own book of business in 18-24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads

o Develop and maintain active prospect lists for priority industry verticals and brands

o Research prospect brands and contacts to tailor R&B value story and solutions to specific needs

o Leverage R&B and external research to personalize prospect outreach, generating qualitative and quantitative data-driven insights relevant to prospects business needs and questions

o Prospect via phone, email, social media, video message, etc. among marketing executives and budget owners at brands interested in Next Gen consumers

o Attend and prospect via in-person and virtual conferences for national industry groups, local organizations, and trade associations as required

  • Help secure new business

o Arrange and attend R&B capabilities presentations and prospect discovery sessions as required

o Manage proposal development and delivery process

Solicit guidance from sales leadership on proposal content and narrative

Work with R&B colleagues to craft solutions to prospects needs, leveraging R&B consumer access points, partnerships, and capabilities

Make, maintain, and communicate project management schedules and responsibilities

Work cross-functionally with Client Services, Research, University Relations, Design, and other teams to integrate relevant input and content for each proposal

Build and proof client-ready proposals from approved templated materials and develop new materials as required

o Assist in delivery of proposals and pitches as required

  • Support new business operations

o Maintain sales CRM with outreach records, prospecting notes, and opportunity tracking

o Participate in regular individual and team sales check-ins

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues

o Share front-line consumer and market insights with R&B colleagues

o Work with R&B Client Services, Marketing, Research, Product, Design, and University Relations teams to deliver integrated solutions that position clients and R&B for success

o Follow prescribed internal processes for consumer and channel information requests, consumer data gathering, proposal development, and more

  • Cultivate knowledge in key areas over time

o Customer: Industries and brands interested in Next Gen consumers

o Buyer: B2C executives focused on one or more marketing areas: Acquisition, Branding, Channel, Digital, Ecommerce, Experiential, Influencer, Innovation, Media, Product, Public Relations, Research, Retention, Social, Sponsorship, and more

o Discipline: Marketing and consumer engagement best practices

o Consumer: Millennial, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha habits, behaviors, and preferences

o Channel: High school, college, alumni, and young professional community norms and trends

o Differentiation: R&B value story, access, partnerships, capabilities, and case studies

o Product: R&B client solutions

  • Represent R&B effectively

o Maintain friendly and professional correspondence with prospects, clients, and partners

o Ensure all communications and work product meet R&B brand standards

  • Contribute culturally to R&B

o Approach opportunities and challenges with enthusiasm, good faith, and transparency

o Let your passions, quirks, and sense of humor shine through with colleagues and clients

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or applicable sales and / or marketing experience
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to self-start and thrive in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong discipline, with an ability to manage time and responsibilities independently
  • Ability to prioritize and address core business needs for clients and R&B
  • Mature relationship-management instincts and people-centric approach to doing business
  • Superior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
