A key role in assisting the sales team, the Sales Associate supports the Account Managers for Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN). In this role, you will be responsible for improving the sales organization's selling efficiency by focusing on lower tier accounts (mainly virtual), growing the Salesforce (CRM) opportunity funnel, qualifying leads and providing them to account managers via Salesforce, along with a high-level background/profile of the client and opportunity. This position will be based in Houston, TX or Cleveland, OH

Your responsibilities

  • Target tier 2 and 3 accounts in the assigned region through virtual means (Email, Phone, Video Meetings) to engage and promote ABB to customers that do not receive regular face to face visits

  • In collaboration with the Service Sales Manager and/or Service Manager, implement Service sales strategy

  • Ensures contact with existing clients, promotes various upgrade, retrofit and value add solutions to the benefit of the customer and ABB

  • Identify and qualify sales opportunities that can be either handed off to Account Managers or in some cases developed and closed without hand off

  • Support the regional sales organization by making initial contact with customer leads and qualifying them (determine interest and scope, as well as identify funding and delivery timeline)

  • Assist sales team with the order booking process to decrease time and effort to book. This could include purchase order review and alignment, navigating internal processes, confirming completion and closing the opportunity in Salesforce

  • Special projects may be assigned to further improve selling efficiency and to provide learning opportunities. Special assignments may include (but are not limited to) marketing, sales operations, business development (that is, Cyber Security) and lead management

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Technical field degree desirable

  • 2 or more years of experience within an industrial market desired.

  • Exceptional communication, technical learning aptitude and organization/planning skills

  • Plant experience desired

  • Knowledge or previous experience with automation control systems desired

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
