JOB TITLE: Sales Associate / Design Consultant

Position Description:

A Factory Expo Furniture Retail Sales Advisor will drive sales revenue and profits, while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. A Retail Sales Advisor does this by being highly motivated, acts honestly, takes direction/training well, and has great listening skills. This person will maximize sales opportunities, efficiently collaborate with their peers to drive results, and implement programs to support company initiatives. They will work closely with Showroom Selling Manager to ensure that the store is reaching monthly sales goals.

As a Retail Sales Advisor, your primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Grow and maximize sales through maintaining excellent customer service standards, being forward thinking with business building initiatives, and develop meaningful customer relationships.

  • Demonstrate competitiveness, while having a passion for helping customers find the right items for their home.

  • Take initiative to help where needed and continuously pursues positive change.

  • Continually improve the in-store customer experience by ensuring point of purchase signage, showroom layout, and cleanliness standards are maintained to the highest level.

  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and training as it relates to the product categories we carry.

  • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity, business ethics, and commitment to organizational goals.

  • Be organized, accurate, and timely with sales orders, customer tracking reports, and commission reports.


Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in a retail store environment; furniture, mattress, and design preferred. Proven track record of success in retail sales. Passion for customer service with strong communication skills. Availability to work during peak business periods, including weekends and holidays. Entrepreneurial thinker, detail oriented, organized with a can-do attitude. Knowledge and experience with point of sale systems, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office suite products. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects (50 pounds or more) from time to time as required.

Compensation Plan:

  • Target Income Range: $65,000 - $100,000

  • Base salary, plus monthly commissions, and potential store bonuses
