The sales assistant will work closely and continuously with the local sales manager and sales team to cultivate accessible clientele and generate new clients while escalating customer approval. The essential function of the inside sales assistant will be to generate new leads, follow up on existing leads, attempt to close sales and also to work symbiotically with outside sales representatives in order to maintain and increase sales in their respective region.
Support Sales Manager and Outside Sales Department by connecting with potential customers and distributor/dealer representatives in order to increase sales
Follow up with current and prospective customers, tradeshow and seminar leads via phone/email/mail
Input leads, lead updates, and any customer related interaction into salesforce.com
Attempt to close sales over the phone
Cultivate and pass warm leads to outside salesperson or Sales Manager
Mail samples, literature, etc. as needed
Handle customer complaints and resolve them
Be responsible for time management to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
Be able to work as a team member for the greater benefit of the team
May require some local travel to work at local tradeshows
High school diploma or equivalent required
3+ years business experience with direct contact with customers, vendors and sales
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Excellent and effective communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Proven history of excellent follow through and problem solving skills
Dental background knowledge
Strong customer service skills and ability to keep good relationships with dentists & dealer personnel, co-workers and other business partners
Database management experience such as SalesForce, etc.
General accounting and logistics knowledge
General knowledge of products, company, and customers
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Ability to accurately perform data entries and record keeping
Ability to keep good relationships with customers, co-workers and other business partners
