The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI is the site where the first H-D factory - a wooden shed - was built in 1903 in the backyard of the William C. Davidson family home. Join our team as a Sales and Operations Planning Analyst.

Job Summary

The Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Analyst position will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the vehicle allocation strategy for the US Dealer Network. Through effective collaboration with the demand teams, the product supply teams, order entry and logistics this role is responsible for ensuring the appropriate product or production is distributed equitably within the US Dealer Network where it is needed to meet retail objectives. This requires careful management of the model level supply plan and the US allocation system. This role will need to communicate and train stakeholders on the vehicle allocation process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce the Motorcycle Planning Report and other monthly vehicle reports for all stakeholder needs

  • Gather data input from various sources and perform analytics that will help ensure an appropriate balance between vehicle supply and demand throughout the US dealer network

  • Drive Continuous Improvement practices to update the methodology on how we allocate motorcycles

  • Work with the dealer network on production allocation concerns or needs

  • Analyze data from all sources to uncover actionable insights to changing allocation needs

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

  • Displays advanced analysis, problem solving, and decision-making skills

  • Demonstrate a level of communication and interpersonal skills that enables effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • High level of discipline, results-oriented leadership and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability

  • Advanced skills in the current office applications primarily Excel with Access or similar database preferred

Technologies that deliver uniquely sustainable, next generation performance What you will do Your primary role, as a Demand Planning Analyst for Power Solutions, is to ensure a rolling 24+ month forecast is developed, reviewed, published, and adjusted as needed by partnering with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain. You will manage a portfolio of SKUs and develop a forecast by using insights such as promotional plans, distribution changes, shipment history, competitor activities, weather and marketing plans. You will be a key driver in creating and managing the true consumer demand signals by which to align the rest of the supply chain. Who does this position report to? Manager of Demand Planning, NA Trade & Logistics How you will do it * Act as a key player in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process as the process owner * Analyze historical and future demand inputs such as distribution changes, price changes, new products launches, and calculate their impacts on demand * Make recommendations to enhance business processes, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies * Work with cross-functional partners on projects such as new product launches, obsolescence, and transitions to evaluate assumptions– new product forecast, pipeline fill, and cannibalization * Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Finance on advertising and promotional plans and evaluate against performance from similar historical activities * Work with demand planners to ensure statistical models are creating sensible 24-month rolling baseline forecasts; help maintain cleansed history in Logility at the appropriate level * Ensure demand plan is shared in level of detail and timing required by internal customers and supply chain partners with documented assumptions, including risks and opportunities * Conduct monthly root cause analyses on forecast error and identify corrective actions * Measure, analyze, and communicate key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators, while driving continuous improvement What we look for * B.S. degree in Operations Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field required * Minimum 3 years of combined experience in demand planning, sales, and/or supply chain * Experience with planning applications (Logility a plus) * Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word * Proven Advanced Excel experience * Specialized supply chain certification a plus * Ability to travel up to 5%, if need be (Domestic) – trainings, possibly plant visits * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across all levels within the organization * Ability to drive action and influence decision making at all levels of the organization * Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and presentation skills * Experience leading process improvement initiatives * Excellent communicator * Quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs Who we are At Johnson Controls, we're shaping the future to create a world that's safe, comfortable and sustainable.
