At KING 5 Media Group you will work with local and national advertisers on large multi-platform marketing campaigns. You will be introduced to the world of media sales including TV Sales, OTT, Content Marketing, Search, Email and other digital capabilities.

You will assist a team of Account Executives on prospecting, cold calling and presenting. If you are creative, forward thinking and are considering a career in sales then this is the right place for you.

We are currently accepting applications for the following Internship:

Fall Sales & Marketing Internship

Hours: Weekdays

Duration: 10 weeks, 10 hours/week

Duties: Assist with projects involving national/local sales, traffic and sales research.

Specific tasks include assisting clients with running times, departmental word processing, rate card updating, answering departmental phones, checking agency confirmations, generating promotional one-sheets, and pulling qualitative data. Assist with promotional projects and details surrounding contest give-a-ways. Through the quarters you will also work on prospecting, cold calling and presenting to clients. May include coordination with other departments including Local Programming Evening and New Day, Creative Services and Production.

Interns should be in their junior or senior year of college, majoring in Communications, Advertising, or a related field.

Computer/typing skills required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.

Job Requirements

What does KING 5 look for in an intern? Ideal candidates for KING 5 internships are current college students in their Junior or Senior year, with at least one quarter remaining before graduation. Qualified students must have strong written and oral communication skills and be interested in a broadcasting career.

As an intern at KING 5, students can test their creative talent, exercise their analytical skills and increase their understanding of broadcast operations and industry trends. In addition, through their interactions with established professionals, interns often find mentors and role models who can facilitate their career planning.

Is college credit for my internship required? Yes. Confirmation from the University of enrollment in the for-credit internships will be required.

The allocation of college credit is at the discretion of your local college or university. Students are responsible for meeting any university registration requirements. The final authority on credits received remains with the university and/or its designated representative.

How many hours are required for internships? Generally, internships are available year round.

Most internships are one quarter long (approximately ten weeks). Evening Magazine internships are for six months. The number of part-time and full time internships available may vary from quarter to quarter.

Hours are to be arranged according to the needs of the department and the scheduling requirements of individual interns. Most part time interns will work at least 20 hours per week, with specific days and times agreed upon in advance.

Are internships paid or unpaid? Internships are paid $15 per hour. The number of internships available will vary each quarter.

We are seeking a world-class Business Program Manager to drive the oversight of our Spend Management and Compliance Excellence initiatives for our global Marketing business team. In this role, you will manage all engagements involving personal and confidential data, requesting Engagement ID and ensure Suppliers are SSPA complaint. Check supplier contracting policy to define if a contract is needed and ensure the contract is signed by approved signatory. Lead all aspects of all Procurement requirements if a Purchase Order (PO) is required for the purchase of goods and services and ensure Proof of Execution for each deliverable is obtained before invoice approval. Key Responsibilities & Skills * Personal and confidential data review and processing * Supplier contracting and CELA review of all Statements of Work (SOW) * Purchase Order (PO) processing in MyOrder tool * Obtain POE for all marketing POs and review carefully before approving payment * Meeting Card procurement for our event engagements * Corporate card and employee expense trouble-shooting * SME for all Spend Management tools (MS Invoice, My Order, Expense Tool, CIM, Informa, MS Travel, MBP) * Manage multimillion-dollar budgets effectively * Deliver monthly performance reporting and analysis on quarterly spend * Experience with Excel.
