The Sales and Management Intern position's primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, "to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." Additionally, Sales and Management Interns perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work closely with the Store Manager to develop an understanding of how Buckle's retail business works and what it takes to excel in management.

Sales Generation and Guest Service

Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and is consistently prepared to provide legendary service to each Guests.

Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development

Consistently recognize recruiting opportunities by utilizing Jobs and Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate recommend.

Visual Merchandise Management

Present merchandise in a manner that will maximize sales and achieve optimum merchandise turn.

Operations

Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, all based upon store and business needs. Consistently maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store to fulfill Buckle's mission statement.

Internship Duties

Complete Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.

Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.

Put knowledge into action by managing a product category set sales goals, educate teammates and track your own results.

Teammate Classifications

Part-time Teammates are those who work less than 35 hours per week or are actively engaged in the business for less than five (5) days per week on a regularly scheduled basis. You will have the opportunity to learn new skills while also contributing to new and existing initiatives as part of a fast paced team within a large enterprise organization. The chosen candidate will work in close collaboration with the manager of the Innovation Center, Director of Marketing and Solutions, and a team of other marketing and creative interns. As a copywriting intern, you will create and edit engaging written copy for internal facing newsletters, and blog and social media posts for several Taylor companies, and marketing and sales promotional materials. This is a paid, real-world learning experience that will help set you on a bright career path with the potential for full-time placement within the MSO Creative Services team or one of our companies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Shift Available * Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm * Maximum of 30 hours per week, flexible schedule Responsibilities Include This internship position will involve a range of creative and marketing facets and will require excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks on tight deadlines, and strong communication skills. * Collaborate with multiple teams to support the creation and evolution of digital and print marketing materials. * Produce 1-4 blog posts each month while utilizing pre-defined topics and keywords. * Write engaging articles and work as a team to maintain a content calendar for an internal newsletter sent to over 500 employees each month. * Work with company leadership to establish brand identity and plan communication opportunities. * Maintain language and tone consistency across multiple brands and channels (e.g. social media, emails, blogs, newsletter, web, presentations, video scripts, and print materials). * Work both individually and within teams to produce defined project deliverables on tight deadlines. * Proofread and edit the work of others, as well as your own, to ensure consistency in style, grammar, and tone. * Occasionally work with graphic designers to assemble graphics to be used in social media and blog posts. * Conduct internal interviews and research trends in the market to use as primary and secondary sources. * Effectively communicate project deliverables and strategy rationale in verbal, visual, and written formats.
