About the Position:
$45,000 - 55,000 / year (DOE)
The Sales Development Program at J&H Aitcheson, a division of Hajoca, is a fast-track training path for external applicants interested in earning a role as an Account Manager/Salesman of our Alexandria, VA location. High-potential candidates with little-to-no industry experience learn every aspect of the distribution of commercial plumbing supplies through a multi-year hands-on rotational program.
During the rotational program, trainees are given guidance from their mentors and managers in all aspects from customer service to pricing products to business operations. Learning occurs primarily through on-the-job experience, and is supplemented with coaching from experienced managers, book and computer courses, and visits with customers and vendors.
Job Duties and the day to day:
Warehouse phase: Trainees begin their training in the warehouse assisting in receiving and order fulfillment to gain an understanding of the inventory and the company's workflow.
Counter phase: After accomplishing a basis understanding of inventory through the warehouse phase, trainees begin work on the counter to continue their knowledge of our inventory while assisting customers, building customer service skills.
Inside Sales: To begin in the sales pit, trainees will learn the processes of creating quotes and submittals. All while continuing to build on product knowledge and work processes, the final outcome is to become an inside sales team member where one will be presented with satisfying their clients orders.
This career opportunity is full time and the compensation package includes:
Competitive salary: approximately $45,000 for the first year based on a 45 hour work week

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred to be considered for the program
