Sales and Financial Planning Analyst

TP-Link USA is currently seeking a Sales & Financial Planning Analyst for our Brea, CA location

*NOTE: Our office will relocate to Irvine, CA at the end of the year*

What your future looks like:

Finance Duties:

  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Work closely with the accounting/sales/marketing teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Guide cost and pricing analysis
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
  • Perform market research, business intelligence, and valuation comps

Sales Duties:

  • Perform sales forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Create KPI documents and management level sales documents weekly
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
  • Track sales performance as it relates to financial goals
  • Analyze past results and recognize trends in retailer or categories


What youll bring to the table:

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of sales or finance planning or other relevant experience
  • High proficiency with financial modeling and techniques
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
  • Knowledge of data management, SQL, business intelligence platforms
  • BA or BS degree required (Finance or Business Preferred)
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Good business acumen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Consumer Electronics or similar field supporting a retail sales division
  • Experience in Retailer Portals (RetailLink, Partnersonline, etc.) is a strong plus
  • Salesforce experience
  • Oracle ERP or similar portal experience

Works with all business functions to analyze actual results versus expectations and build accurate future expectations. Publishes monthly standard business performance reports and ad hoc analysis. Defines and implements standard work processes to gain efficient and accurate financial reporting. Performs financial results analysis to identify variations and trends that indicate possible exposures. Includes Financial Systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist with forecasts (P&L and BS) - Worldwide roll-up for Ormco. * Support the monthly forecast submission and annual budgeting processes. * Submit forecast, budget and strategic plan to Corporate HFM system as well as Danaher Hyperion system. * Financial data gathering, preparation, analysis, and distribution of reports and recommendations around financial plans, operating forecasts, statistical reports, cash flow projections, acquisition activity, new business planning for various divisions. * Provide analysis and recommendations on improvement of sales, discount and gross profit performance. * Activities include preparation of financial forecast and variance analysis on a monthly basis. * Quantitative analysis and tracking of key sales & marketing initiatives and metrics. * Analysis and support of the sales commission processes * Interfaces with Senior Management and Department Managers and key stakeholders to gain understanding of key revenue and cost drivers. * Prepares key management reports emphasizing historical results, budgets, forecasts, and trends. * Monitors departmental budget vs. actual spending * Develops summary and detail reporting, such as forecasting, budgets and actuals * Make recommendations to management regarding cost savings or profit-generating opportunities * Manage and improve commission plans and payouts * Reports on Sales and margin analysis Most Important Competencies: * Teamwork – must be willing and able to work closely with other departments, peers, etc. * Ability to influence others – must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to action on key initiatives * Results orientation – must deliver results * Analysis – strong analytics and proactively diving deeper for understanding * Environment – ability to work in a fast past, challenging and ambiguous environment * Reporting – streamline current reporting processes * Communication – must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form Education and/or Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 2 plus years relevant experience preferred * 4-year University degree in Business, Finance, or related disciplines. CPA and/or MBA is a plus. * 2-4 years of experience as a financial analyst with a global, multi-site manufacturing company. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) required. * Must have previous experience with large automated accounting and reporting systems (Oracle and HFM preferred), including data extract and report compilation. * Fluent in English. * Strong analytical/problem solving skills. * Results oriented with focus on achieving overall business objectives. * Change management oriented (embrace challenges). * Operates at all levels within the organization. * Capable of managing multiple responsibilities. * Working knowledge of SOX, controls and procedures. * Must have the ability to think strategically. * Hands on and highly motivated. * Strong working knowledge of Hyperion, Oracle, Data Warehouse, Tableau is a plus.
