The Sales Analytics Manager provides focus on analysis of complex customer data to assist with business issues using advanced statistical analysis and the interpretation of reporting data. He/She develops sales resource performance data, business intelligence, analyzes data, and provides guidance and recommendations to senior sales management used to drive revenue growth and profitability. This position is instrumental in identifying business trends and must have thorough knowledge of all reporting tools. He/She forecasts marketing and performance trends for senior sales management.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identifies, collects, and analyzes available data to gain insight, define relationships, and set boundaries

  • Invents new analytics to resolve issues when available methods are deficient

  • Communicates findings to senior management and stakeholders to obtain approval and support implementations

  • Identifies potential metrics from known processes (i.e., benchmarks) or through innovation to validate performance

  • Provides guidance to senior sales management on how the data can be used to improve business plan performance

  • Communicates results and assists in the development of solutions or improved processes to provide status updates to management

  • Communicates findings to sales teams and provides solutions on what actions can be taken to improve performance

  • Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Quality Performance Review [QPR], Career Development, Succession Planning, Salary Administration, Training, Staffing, etc.) to ensure the day to day administration of processes and formal procedures

  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development

  • Performs analyses, interprets results, creates reports, and follows up on audits to ensure effective communication

Knowledge and Skills

  • Adept at thoroughly defining problems and structuring analytical paths to solving them; disaggregates problems into key issues to efficiently solve them; selects efficient analytical approaches that fit the situation

  • Develops plans that balance details and the "big picture"; adapts the level of detail required for a given audience and the purpose; completes work with thoroughness; maintains records and information in an organized manner; audits available information for inconsistencies; maintains documentation that support the completion of work and retention of details/decisions

  • Addresses and resolves issues impacting information systems reporting; looks for ways to minimize report generation and required storage; modifies existing report formats; creates and interprets customized reports; integrates data, information, and documents from multiple software programs; writes more complex report queries

  • Uses in-depth techniques to uncover new information or details that are not readily available; selects techniques and strategies that are appropriate for the audience; chooses techniques that result in more accurate and thorough information; implements strategies that minimize biases and preconceived ideas

  • Demonstrates some advanced knowledge of statistical analyses, sampling, and tests; demonstrates the ability to identify outliers in data sets; troubleshoots existing statistical models; demonstrates basic knowledge of time series analysis

  • Leverages technological knowledge to achieve business objectives; resolves technological issues impeding work; adapts technological information, facts, or data to varying situations or groups; recommends changes to technological approach based upon knowledge of trends and best practices

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 The Client Analytics Senior Manager is responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing analytical models and capabilities that support the Value Analytics team and our boundary partners. This individual will develop and own analytical modeling workstreams that serve internal Cox Automotive team needs for our sales teams that support our largest and most strategic clients, as well as enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. Focus areas include client segmentation, opportunity sizing models, and analysis supporting CAI strategic initiatives. This role is also responsible for managing analysis datasets within an AWS environment and ensuring that all models are built in an agile, scalable, and repeatable way. Key Responsibilities: Analytical Model Creation * Designs and develops advanced analytics projects through business and analytical problem framing, data acquisition and creation, model approach definition, model building and solution deployment * Must be able to deliver insightful analyses, quickly and accurately, on a just-in-time basis * Knack for summarizing / translating complex technical concepts into simple communications / stories Data Architecture Design * Identifies relevant data sources to feed the analytical modeling capabilities as well as defines repeatable processes for recreating and scaling analytical approach through enterprise platforms and AWS infrastructure (includes activities and scheduling for implementing, improving, and updating the data set) Business-Facing Analysis * Establish and develop strong relationships and alignment with Corporate Strategy Teams, Finance and FP&A teams at both the CAI and Solution Group levels to support ad-hoc and what-if scenario planning and analysis. * Defines/refines an operating model for analytical models that specifies all responsibilities and timing associated with maintaining the steady-state operation, refreshing/updating segmentation inputs, and running dynamic segmentation for specific use cases * Thrives in a fast-paced environment and responds to senior level executive requests smartly * Develop a closed-loop process with CAI departments to maintain and improve upon analytical models Required: * Minimum 7 years of experience with statistical modeling, data mining, machine learning, and advanced analytical modeling * BS/BA in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent quantitative degree is required * Strong proficiency with statistical coding languages and data manipulation tools (R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.) * Experience in a complex organization, with a proven track record of positive results required * Expert knowledge in analytics, statistics, mathematical modeling, and experimental design applied in developing customer segmentation schemes * Experience developing and implementing analytical models (segmentation, pricing, opportunity sizing, forecasting, market basket analysis, etc.) based on various statistical methods (classification, clustering, etc.) * Expert in working with "big-ish" data sets (10s of Millions of records) * Expert at data blending and data manipulation * Excellent writing proficiency, visual design, and presentation skills required * Proven ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships and influence at all levels of the organization * Strong critical thinking skills * Success in a startup environment – high energy, quick turns, get-it-done initiative, limited oversight * Must have a high level of comfort with the Agile methodology * Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills required * Demonstrated ability to understand and influence sales teams * Data-driven problem solving approach, combined with business reasonable strategy Preferred: * MS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent quantitative degree is preferred * Management consulting experience preferred * Experience working with AWS technologies is a plus COX-290 Cox Enterprises Atlanta GA
