Our Sales Advisors are here to ensure that our customers enjoy a fantastic shopping experience, whether it's offering them garment options or answering simple questions such as locating the fitting rooms. Because, in the end, we believe that our clothes will sell themselves. Our customers just need someone to engage them and offer advice, from time to time, to figure out what's possible for their personal style.

Department: Store

Reports to: Department Manager, dotted line to Department Supervisor

Direct Reports: None

Overall Job Function: Optimizes the stores selling by providing the customers with a pleasant shopping experience, including customers with garment options and direct service.

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

Customer Service

  • Provide excellent direct and indirect customer service according to H&M standards and meet the 5 basic demands on the selling floor, in the fitting room and at the cash point

  • Answer phones courteously and promptly

Job Knowledge

  • Actively work with garments, including processing, stocking, replenishing, folding, hanging, displaying and merchandising per H&M guidelines, to maximize selling opportunities

  • Ring on the register, report and handle all required transactions, issue receipts and pack merchandise

  • Unload delivery truck, receive, open and unpack merchandise and label merchandise with security tags


  • Execute reductions, price changes, transfers and cash register routines

  • Utilize established H&M policies and procedures to assist in loss prevention and safety for the store and partner with store management as needed

Team Player

  • Work effectively with team members to ensure the selling floor, cash point, fitting rooms and stockroom are clean and well maintained per H&M's store standards

  • Adhere to H&M values and internal standards policies and procedures contained in the H&M Employee Handbook

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred

  • 6 months of experience in customer service, retail industry preferred

  • Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items (mannequins, clothing, totes, torsos, etc.) for a short distance

  • Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool


  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to recognize and execute selling opportunities

  • Ability and willingness to run a cash register

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to take initiative to complete tasks and solve problems

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to manage time and prioritize

  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends

VIEW JOBS 11/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-08T00:00 Description Bellingham Technical College is establishing a pool for the current 2018-2019 academic year for positions in the Culinary Program and/or Food Services for dishwasher(s). These are temporary, hourly assignments. Hours are not guaranteed and assignments are based on the needs of the department. The work schedule is generally during the Monday through Friday work-week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 3 -6 hours per day, up to 15 hours per week, during the academic year, September 2018 through June, 2019. Hours may vary quarterly depending on lab schedules. Reports to the Culinary Arts Instructor. Position Duties & Responsibilities * Operate the dishwasher to wash dishes, pots, and preparation utensils, and sanitizes the dish room; * Set up and break down the Cafeteria and Conference Rooms; * Lead and direct students in the operation of the dish room; * Collect and dispose of garbage in the dumpsters; * Monitor, collect, and prepare materials for recycling; * Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/designee. Qualifications Minimum and Preferred Qualifications and Essential Tasks: * Possession of or eligible for a food handler's permit; * Dishwasher/food service experience preferred; * Knowledge of sanitation and safe work practices; * Demonstrated ability to read directions, i.e., manuals and communicate through written and spoken work; * Ability to work under timelines and tight deadlines; * Recent experience in dishwasher operation preparation preferred; * Demonstrated ability to interact positively with co-workers and students in a training situation. Physical Work Environment: Physically perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation to include, but not be limited to: working in an environment that requires operating equipment/machinery where reaching high and stooping low, bending and twisting, and manual dexterity are necessary functions. Requires the ability to lift and carry on a regular basis: tables, chairs, and other items weighing as much as fifty pounds. Requires being mobile on your feet 100% of the assigned shift; working with strong cleaning agents and hot water are also required. Supplemental Information Compensation: $ 11.88 per hour, increasing to $12.00 per hour on January 1, 2019 with Minimum Wage Increase. Earns paid sick leave in accordance with Washington State law. No additional benefits.
