The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a long-term position in the Mauldin, South Carolina area:

Safety & Training Manager

This position is responsible for coordinating, communicating, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental process compliance standards with all employees. Develop, plan, direct, coordinate and document the training and development activities of the Mundy Companies site personnel to ensure compliance with customer, local, state, federal and Mundy regulations and requirements.

Essential Functions

  • SAFETY
  • Perform daily safety and quality control checks of personnel in packaging, floor storage, and shipping areas.

  • Assist Site Manger in communicating Non-Conformance issues which are reported. Perform root cause analysis, develop better practices, and conduct updated training with all personnel.

  • Input Incident Investigations into client AIMS reporting database.

  • Perform safety analysis and provide feedback for monthly stewardship meetings.

  • Conduct accident/incident investigations and reporting.

  • Coordinate and lead monthly Safety Team meetings.

  • Conduct all new employee orientation training for Short Service Worker Program.

  • Developing Annual Training Metrics.

  • Facilitate Behavioral Base Safety Program and trend at-risk behaviors for training and tool box discussions.

  • Champion the 5S housekeeping program for the warehouse.

  • Attend Client Unit Safety Meetings, Monthly Contractor Safety meetings, and conduct Contractor Safety Audits.

Essential Functions

  • TRAINING
  • Oversee training for all Mundy personnel at site

  • Conduct Field training

  • Responsible for maintaining mSite employee training documentation

  • Develop new courses, as identified by Client or Mundy Supervision

  • Field verify SOPs

  • Administrator Field Level training

  • Perform detailed Task analysis

  • Evaluate current methods for Safety, Quality & Productivity

  • Make recommendations for process improvement

  • Obtain customer approval for process changes

  • Document and format Task training

  • Validate and finalize

  • Perform routine audits

  • Develop and revise materials for courses as required

  • Handouts, test, presentations

  • Conduct classroom sessions of courses as required

  • Track data and prepare reports to ensure employee completion of refresher training

  • Evaluate class results for course revision needs

  • Conduct initial training for all Mundy new hires

  • Document completion of Contractor Safety Council courses in site records

  • Arrange for customer site systems access as required (email, etc.)

  • Schedule site specific (SAP, etc.) training and document completion

  • Track respirator fit test in conjunction with respirator training

  • Conduct classroom portions of various equipment operator courses, such as Forklift and Track mobile, Packaging Line Operation, Put-a-way, Shipping, etc.

  • Track operators to ensure completion of required practical training and compliance with licensing requirements

  • Coordinate and document all third-party training

  • Conduct Supervisor Training for Mundy Supervisors if needed

  • Audit Mundy site employee training files once per year

Success Factors Administrator

  • Oversees Client Success Factors for Mundy employees

  • Send Weekly notices or reports to keep everyone up to date

  • Assigns Success Factor tracks to Mundy employees

TJA's

  • Oversee writing, revision, handling, and document control of written work instructions (TJA, for Total Job Analysis) for which Mundy is responsible at this site

  • Developed training program for TJA writing; run it as needed

  • Assist in writing and development of other procedures as needed

Continuous Improvement Program (CIP)

  • Point of Contact for Digitalization process improvements

  • Collect, evaluate and assign submitted items for resolution

  • Track status of items

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has indirect supervisory responsibilities for non-exempt associates.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, combustible dust, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Work area can be dusty and may at times require the use of a respirator. Safety toed footwear, hard hat, and a reflective vest or shirt is required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may lift and/or move items over 55 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and typical hours of work are 7:00-5:00 M-F. This position will be expected to work additional hours and be on call as dictated by business needs.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two years' experience with environmental health and safety in a warehousing/distribution environment

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of supply chain and logistics industry

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of environmental health and safety/security

  • Strong leadership and customer service skills

  • Knowledge of industry-related state and federal rules and regulations

  • Prefer at least two years' experience in risk management
