The Community Operations Safety Team strives to create a safe atmosphere for the Facebook and Instagram communities by way of outstanding support, education, and care for the various people around the world who use our platforms.   • Develop an understanding of safety issues and how they affect Facebook, Instagram, and our communities

Partner with Policy, Engineering and Security to identify, influence, and improve the support provided to users in need

Lead investigations into accounts to identify sources of abusive behavior

Share case studies with internal teams and highlight potential trends of how suspects and victims use Facebook

Gather and synthesize relevant data, suggesting improvements in the tools and techniques to help scale the team and mitigate future risk

Interface with legal, law enforcement, and industry partners when appropriate


  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in a safety/security minded field
    3+ years of work experience in an operations, project management, investigations, or equivalent environment

Experience communicating to a variety of audiences

Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving experience

Experience with assessing, analyzing and resolving issues, and distilling that complexity into simple communication


  • Fluency in Tagalog, Spanish, Portuguese or German

Experience working with graphic or sensitive content

The News Feed Integrity Operations Specialists help protect the integrity of Facebook News Feed by analyzing patterns of activity and investigating trends to help enforce Facebook policies, as well as organizing cross-functional teams to take action. You will work alongside Product Managers, UX Researchers, Data Scientists, and Engineering Leads to proactively identify and independently lead strategic projects geared towards reducing the spread of false news, misinformation, clickbait, engagement bait, sensationalism, and other types of spammy content. Successful candidates for this role have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and are always looking for strategic opportunities to improve how systems and processes work. RESPONSIBILITIES * Cultivate relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners to shape, support, and execute product goals Ensure product success through targeted product feature development and quality assurance Conduct investigations into integrity abuse to inform product direction or define new enforceable policies Identify and share insights and learnings to develop scalable solutions Manage multiple different work flows and execute on key long-term strategic initiatives and projects Support new ideas through experimentation, ad hoc analytics, and framework development MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * 1+ years of experience in a product environment, consulting, analytics, or operations role 1+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis Experience juggling multiple priorities Experience initiating and driving projects to completion Experience communicating to a variety of audiences and explaining analyses to both technical and business partners PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's and/or Master's degree Experience using SQL Experience using a project management method (e.g. Scrum, Lean, Waterfall) Experience defining measurements and applying statistical analysis to evaluate process performance Ability to assess, analyze and resolve complicated issues, and distill that complexity into simple and concise concepts Fluency in other languages, including French, Dutch, German, Bahasa, Burmese, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi Facebook Menlo Park CA
