Job Summary:

This individual is responsible for overall site safety and government body compliance/reporting through the implementation of best in class safety programs, safety infrastructure and safety training for all employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to building a best in class safety culture and policy that drives safety in all daily activities for all employees, provide regular safety training, drive safety infrastructure projects and programs, keep and report all safety statistics and ensure compliance with all government bodies while maintaining excellent relationships with local community service organizations.

  • Leader of safety culture through industry and safety expertise

  • Safety training program leader

  • Be the voice of safety for all management of change activities including capital projects and hygiene programs

  • Drive best in class safety policy, infrastructure, behavior and programs

  • Maintain and report period safety statistics

  • Ensures government body compliance and builds excellent relationships with our community

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Environmental, Health, Safety preferred. Associates in Environmental, Health, Safety or Bachelors in other field required.

  • CSP certification or CSP certifiable

  • 5 Years in the life as a safety professional, previous experience in specialty chemical field a plus

Qualifications and Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of an organization, computer literacy etc.

VIEW JOBS 3/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-13T00:00 Position Summary: The police lieutenant oversees and coordinates the operations of the police department and directly supervises police sergeants, specialists, officers and other departmental personnel. The lieutenant is responsible for scheduling, payroll, special details, preparing and maintaining records, evaluations, performance reviews, and other administrative functions. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Interprets and enforces state laws, municipal ordinances and University regulations. Works collaboratively with administrators, staff, faculty and students. The lieutenant is responsible for directing staff in implementing principles of community oriented policing into a comprehensive university law enforcement program. 2. Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the staff of the University Police Department to ensure a safe and secure campus community. Directly supervises sergeants, specialists, officers and other departmental personnel. Conducts monthly field inspections of patrol operations during after hours and weekend coverage. In the absence of the Chief of Police, assumes command of the department and represents the Chief on all matters related to campus safety operations. Provides after hour and on-call guidance and direction during critical incidents and emergencies as assigned. 3. Develop, administer, and evaluate policies, provide administrative oversight for university police; including scheduling, hiring/recruitment, performance evaluations, counseling, resource management, maintenance of vehicles and equipment, special details, assignments and programs. Maintains overtime, sick and vacation records for all assigned personnel. Supervises the maintenance of payroll documents and in-house records. Renders administrative, monthly and other reports and attends and participates in campus committees and performs other duties as assigned. 4. Establishes and maintains good working relations with department heads, community officials and student organizations. Participates and assists with safety and crime prevention presentations. Cultivates and maintains strong partnership with nearby law enforcement, medical and emergency management and fire/rescue agencies in area.
