Safety Specialist- Heavy Civil Construction

Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist with a commitment to safety leadership and excellence for projects in the Phoenix area. Safety Specialists are responsible for day-to-day implementation and management of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance programs on construction and mining sites. You will work with Rummel's project teams and subcontractors to increase safety awareness and improve safety practices.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and participate in daily/weekly safety meetings and formal worksite inspections.

• Conduct risk assessment and encourage preventative measures.

• Monitor worksites frequently throughout the day to ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance programs.

• Assist in jobsite incident/accident/injury investigations.

• Assist in gathering statistical data.

Qualifications: Experience in the mining and/or construction industry.

Ability to work independently and as a team leader, exercising professional judgment and behavior. A valid driver's license is a must and willing to support our project near Phoenix. Travel within AZ is required.

The Safety Specialist is in a safety sensitive position and may require substantial walking, sitting, and standing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is also exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme heart and/or cold.

Additional Preferred Qualifications (but not required):

OSHA Construction 30 Hour Trainer Certification

Part 48 trained miner

MSHA Trainer Certification
