Provide a safe and secure environment for employees, contractors and guests, by maintaining, reviewing, updating and implementing safety standards and procedures, overseeing safety functions at each Deluxe site, responding to and assisting with investigation of injury incidents, providing data and reports for audit purposes (internal and external customers), and creating awareness and educating team members on proper procedures and behavioral controls. Perform duties as required to implement and maintain all safety and health programs in Deluxe facilities, with particular focus on manufacturing facilities and environment. Also assist with some minor environmental tasks such as hazardous waste licenses, waste management, and some emissions reporting. Also support the Enterprise Security Specialist
Responsible for maintaining and ensuring proper implementation of Deluxe Safety Standards, Procedures, and Policies. Reviews aforementioned on a regular basis and revises accordingly and communicates changes to Deluxe facilities
Serves as a resource for Deluxe facilities and provides information and direction related to general safety issues and inquiries. Conducts safety and compliance audits at Deluxe facilities, issuing reports to site leadership and Corporate stakeholders. Assists sites with corrective action plans and resolution of gaps/findings.
Monitors regulatory changes within federal, state, and local regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, Building Codes, Departments of Health, etc.), and communicates how changes can impact the business. Maintains Corporate safety records, tracks audit scores and KPI's, and maintains injury data and Enterprise summary of injuries and OSHA Logs.
Coordinate closely with Enterprise Security Specialist and understand elements of security as they may relate to site Emergency Response Plans. Will act as a back-up role at times when Enterprise Security Specialist is unavailable.
Support Real Estate and Facilities Team on building related projects that may have elements of safety or building life safety systems such as fire protection.
Required: Education: Bachelors (or equivalent experience) in security and safety
Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience
Critical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Works with minimum supervision. Assignments are broad in nature, with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions. May be assisted by Associate Level personnel.
The position is a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in Safety and Health, with sufficient years of professional service, education, and audit experience in the manufacturing environment to effectively manage and maintain regulatory compliance and provide guidance and direction to site operations. Also needs experience with safety elements within office settings, such as ergonomic assessments and guidance, emergency response planning.
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures related to safety management that allows for the completion of difficult assignments or projects and has a minimum of 5 or more years of professional experience.
Communicates with a variety of internal and external contacts. Performs office administration tasks and spends time in the production environment reviewing equipment and processes and working with employees and managers. This position will require travel to other facilities to conduct, assist with corrective actions or new policy implementation, and assist with special projects as needed.
Good organizational skills, computer skills and oral/written communication skills are essential.
