JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Occupational Safety Manager, implements and administers a comprehensive occupational safety program which evaluates the degree of risk and regulatory compliance for Clemson (Greenville Area) facilities and operations. Provides technical support and compliance assistance across the enterprise including but not limited to research, physical plant and other campus organizations. Other duties as assigned.

Safety Support
Develops, updates, and implements written programs to provide technical support and compliance assistance for OSHA General Industry and Construction. Programs and services include but are not limited to shop safety, machine safety, forklift and mobile equipment safety, electrical safety including high voltage and arc flash, emergency preparedness, crane safety, fall protection and confined spaces. Complete job safety analysis for research assistants, technicians, and facilities staff, student workers and faculty members. Assists in emergency planning and support including safety officer responsibilities for university.

Administrative Support.
Develops and implements procedures and training related to compliance with applicable regulations for health and safety. Creates related manuals, documents, standard operating procedures, web pages and maintains applicable records. Conducts accident investigations and reports. Establishes annual program goals and objectives. Collaborates with other OES managers to integrate safety support with other OES programs as needed. Analyzes incident report data and develops strategies and interventions to reduce incident rates. Develops effective communications between OES and campus units, management, and other partnerships.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education
3 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety Programs.
Licenses/Certifications: OSHA General Industry 10 hour and/or OSHA Construction 10 hour

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary Range ($ 45,530.00 - $ 64,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
