The Safety & Security Manager will develop, implement, and administer a comprehensive organizational security program to ensure protection of staff, patients, residents, visitors, and property. This position will collaborate with leaders and community partners to plan, coordinate, and continuously evaluate the security operations of the organization in accordance with security events, risk assessments, organizational policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a discipline requiring high levels of analytical skill required or equivalent combination of education (i.e., Associate degree, military training, etc.) and/or related experience
Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience is preferred
Minimum of 8 years' experience with a law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization preferred
Experience in healthcare security preferred
Experience in Emergency Management preferred
Certification preferred in one of the following: Certified Threat Manager (CTM), Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Associate Emergency Manager (AEM)
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of security operations, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time management and presentation skills.
Ability to utilize verbal and written communication skills to address external and internal customers, including senior leadership and various other individuals.
Knowledge of principles and methodologies of change management.
Ability to work cross-functionally with departments.
Ability to lead assignments from inception through completion.
Ability to illustrate current and future state using appropriate diagramming methodologies.
Ability to display a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to influence and shape work, progress, and processes without ownership or control.
Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and team skills.
Demonstrate applied knowledge of business processes and process improvement methodologies.
Strong computer skills required including expertise in Microsoft Office tools.
This position is scheduled Mon-Friday day hours. Occasional after-hours may be needed for meetings/ training.
