Job Overview:

Supervises management of building and equipment maintenance,including its personnel, on all shifts to ensure the facility and equipment aremaintained at the highest level of operational readiness. Manages the Risk Control system whichincludes supporting management to assure risk control initiatives and claimfunctions are designed to protect distribution center earnings againstfinancial loss due to employee injury, public liability, liability claims,building damage, and loss of physical assets or business interruption due tofire, theft or natural disasters.

Job Responsibilitiesand Accountabilities:

  • Interfaces with all department managers tomaintain awareness of equipment needs and maintenance requirements.

  • Communicates with corporate and regioncounterparts regarding equipment and facility maintenance as well as regulatorycompliance, safety issues, claims management and other Risk Control activities.

  • Prepares and manages annual budget for labor andexpendable supplies, capital expense budget and conducts an annual assetinventory.

  • Plans, schedules and completes projects forfacility improvement per projections utilizing internal resources orcontractors.

  • Purchases all parts and supplies required formaintaining the building and equipment.

  • Utilizes MAXIMO for tracking and accountingmaintenance tasks and purchases.

  • Maintains the Pressurized System Management(PSM) program for the ammonia system and ensures that technicians are properlytrained in maintenance and safety requirements.

  • Develops RFQs, award and manage servicecontracts.

  • Coordinates all Risk Control activitiesassociated with regulatory compliance and general safety for the distributioncenter. Maintains DC safety programs, policies and procedures.

  • Calculates, analyzes and reports loss rates.

  • Plans, prepares and documents the Risk ControlManagement Evaluation elements (RCME). Plans and coordinates the CriticalActivities Management (CAM) process/action plan.

  • Serves as the point of contact for all claimsmanagement issues including case management, TAW program, RTW requirements andoversight of WC expense in the budgeting process.

  • Serves as the point of contact for all State and

Federal agencies including but not limited to OSHA, USDA and Mississippi Health Department. Maintains all requiredregulatory reports for Corporate, State and Federal agencies.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety related field orprevious experience in safety/risk management preferred or related experiencein Maintenance/Risk Management.

  • Work experience in ammonia refrigerationsystems, MHE programs, electrical systems and reading/reviewing architecturalplans.

  • Working knowledge of the computerizedmaintenance program for scheduling maintenance tasks and inventories throughMAXIMO.

  • Possess good leadership skills and the abilityto work in cooperation with other members of management to manage Risk Controlactivities and maintain equipment/systems at 98% operational readiness.

  • Basic computer skills, spreadsheet applicationsand analytical ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

  • Knowledgeable in warehousing operations, ammoniasystems and working knowledge of regulatory standards but not limited to OSHA,FDA and Sanitation.

  • Possess auditing and training experience andability to make effective presentations to diverse groups of participants.
