Midwest Valve Services LLC, a leading provider of improved industrial process performance and reliability, is currently offering an opportunity for a Safety Relief Valve Technician to join our fast paced, customer oriented environment in our Minooka, IL location. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient repair of safety relief valves in our facility and at customer sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Repair safety relief valves to National Board VR Code
Read and interpret manufactures drawings and spring charts
Machine nozzles, discs and associated parts to OEM specifications
Perform measurements with
Apply advanced math skills to verify critical dimensions
Perform machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs
Perform valve write-ups including
Guide and nozzle ring settings
Pressure and leak test valves to National Board, API and ASME standards
Travel as required throughout Midwest Valve Services territory
Perform field service and valve testing with computerized lift assist device
Complete preventative maintenance on department equipment
Support National Board audit activities
This position requires up to 50 percent travel
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma required
Industrial safety and relief valve experience preferred
Working knowledge of National Board Inspection Code (NBIC)
Working knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
High computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems.
Strong attention to detail and conscientious nature
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Dedication to a safe work environment through effective housekeeping, workplace safety, etc.
Ability and strong desire to lead by example, as well as work well with others
Valid Driver's License and ability to be insured by company insurance
Availability to work weekends and afterhours as needed
