Global Industrial is seeking an energetic, goal oriented individual to join our Product and Sales teams. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on all Global Industrial's Safety product categories and will be responsible for strengthening vendor relationships in conjunction with Product Management, providing technical expertise and support to our sales organization to capitalize on new and improved safety supply opportunities for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the sales team to ensure that emerging technology is consistently at the forefront of conversations with our customers
Work with Marketing and Product Management ensuring emerging technology is available as part of our schedule and catalog offerings
Maintain vendor certifications and provide insight on emerging technologies to our sales team
When our customers have highly complex technology problems to solve, will support technical analyses, and requirements gathering, suggest alternatives and design solutions to include best vendor products to utilize (potential for supporting the actual install itself)
Advise Bid team on best choice vendors to reach out to to quote proper solutions for the customer (in both best value and lowest price, technically acceptable environments)
Deliver solution-oriented technical presentations and demonstrations to our customers
Provide analysis of a customer's technical requirements, Safety product selection and rollout strategy.
Technical Lead with support from our sales operations and product management team will examine specific requirements to verify product compliance with any customer requirement.
Deep knowledgebase on current Safety hardware and service technologies, specifically in the realm of OSHA, MSHA, and ANSI regulations. Knowledge of CSA standards.
Work as technical lead with subcontractors and vendor partners, assessing compliance and risk
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and / or Occupational Health & Safety preferred
Minimum 7 years of Safety Supplies Sales or Safety Consulting experience
Ability to travel (role requires 25-50% domestic travel)
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience leading workshops and solution sessions on safety supplies with a focus on warehousing and distribution
Proven ability to craft and write technical sections of proposals
Excellent oral and written communication skills (documentation, client presentations, etc.)
Superb interpersonal communication skills and the ability to participate on sales calls
Must be dependable

Strong customer services experience
