EPG is currently seeking a Safety Operator and Technician for one of our clients in the Loveland area. The Safety Operator and Technician will report to the Head of Autonomous Vehicle Operations and serve as a test/safety driver, operating and evaluating vehicles used in the development of automated driving systems. Vehicles will operate in multiple modes, including manual-only and automated, corresponding to SAE levels of automated driving up to and including Level 4.
The Safety Operator and Technician will be responsible for monitoring the vehicle and driving environment; determining whether and how to return the vehicle to a minimum-risk condition; and intervening in automated driving tasks to resume manual control for safety and performance assessment purposes.
This role is hands-on, requiring acute attentiveness to the vehicle system during operation, as well as constant observations of its performance. The work you do will support the development and delivery of safe, error-free, and effective autonomous vehicle systems for the largest companies in the world that ship freight.
Duties and responsibilities

  • Safely operate vehicles for 8-10+ hours per day, every day, to observe, assess, and improve our test and production-level vehicle systems
  • Use keen judgment to determine appropriate on-the-spot responses to vehicle performance and safety issues
  • Provide insightful and thorough verbal and/or written test reports on system performance – including vehicle and system data and/or observations related to automated driving system development – for Engineering, Vehicle Operations, Customer Success and Executive staff
  • Maintain a current Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) valid in Colorado and in any other state of the United States, as requested (the CDL must be carried at all times on the job)
  • Perform technician duties including, but not limited to, preparation, installation and maintenance of vehicle hardware
  • Support field testing, both locally and at remote customer sites
Required qualifications
  • Desire and ability to understand autonomous vehicle system and technology through constant reading of documentation and Q&A with colleagues
  • Flexibility for day, night, and/or weekend work, as needed (and sometimes on short notice)
  • Unwavering focus on safety and helping to explore and implement system improvements
  • Obvious interest in and enthusiasm about autonomous vehicles
  • Class A CDL and clean driving record with tractor-trailer driving experience in the last 6-12 months
  • Ability to back, hitch/unhitch, and dock/un-dock a tractor-trailer combination
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Contagious energy and positivity in relationships and interactions

Description The purpose of the Senior Compliance Engineer is to apply advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance and engineering principles to the design, redesign, and testing of instrumentation, subassemblies, and complex systems. Main areas of responsibility: 1. Provide advocacy and/or interpretation of new industry safety guidelines as they relate to the diverse portfolio of Hach products 2. Work with R&D to ensure products are designed to meet compliance standards 3. Responsibilities Essential Functions: * Evaluate and analyze instrumentation circuit designs for compliance with regulatory standards and directives. Suggest options and changes to the instrumentation design to improve the design's robustness and chances of compliance when tested. * Review and analyze compliance regulations and standards to uncover their applicability and requirements as applied to instrumentation * Regulations and standards are often broadly stated and not always specific. Must use judgment and ingenuity in interpreting the intent and in developing reasonable interpretations and approaches to the applying of them. This role is recognized as a technical authority for interpretation, applicability and implementation. * The work includes varied duties requiring many different and unrelated processes and methods applied to a broad range of activities and analysis.
