(SIE) is a full-service consulting engineering firm based in downtown Manhattan providing services in civil, structural, transportation engineering, bridge & facility inspection, construction management & inspection and lighting design. We are engaged in local community improvement projects to large, high-profile, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects with a strong reputation of delivering a wide range of projects for our clients in the public sector.SIE is looking for a Safety Manager – Rail/Transit to support various MTA C&D transit construction projects. This position will be responsible for supporting the client in auditing safety on the project.Responsibilities:
- Ensuring contractor and subcontractor compliance with contract specifications, APP & SWPs and MTA C&D Policies and Procedures.
- Conducting safety audits of projects and generating reports with findings and photos
- Reviewing safety plans and submittals
- Reviewing incidents and incident reports
- Participating in project meetings
- Reviewing contractor schedules and payments
- Conducting constructability review
- Coordination with MTA and other stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in safety management for infrastructure projects
- Experience with design-build and design-bid-build projects
- Experience with MTA C&D (including NYCT, LIRR, MNR), Amtrak, NJ Transit, and PANYNJ
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic
- MNR Contractor Safety Training
- Site Safety Manager Course
- OSHA 30 (OSHA 500 desirable)
- CSP, CHST or other formal safety certifications preferred
- NYCT Track Training
