TITLE: Safety Manager
REPORTS TO: Tucson General Manager
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Pueblo Mechanical & Controls is currently seeking a Safety Manager to manage all safety functions on mechanical construction projects for various markets. The position requires that the individual have 5-7 years of construction safety management work-related experience, preferably working for a Mechanical Contractor.
This position will work directly with the Pueblo Senior Safety Manager
Responsibilities (not an all-inclusive list):
Ensure Pueblo's core value of safety is lived and followed by all.
Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Federal, State and Local regulations, and Owner/Contractual requirements.
Responsible for performing daily on -site safety functions of the company.
Develop project-specific site safety policy and procedures.
Conduct safety orientation sessions for new employees and subcontractors.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments and implement controls for hazardous working conditions or unsafe team member activities.
Conduct on-site safety and equipment trainings.
Investigate injuries, incidents, and near-misses to determine causes and preventative measures.
Ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
Individuals must have the ability to work with all levels of Pueblo employees.
Utilize a continuous improvement approach to safety.
Qualifications:
5-7 years' experience in construction safety.
Current OSHA 500 certification
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA, local safety laws, and other regulatory agencies.
Sound/ethical judgment, strong leadership skills, and ability to work independently.
Proficient in MS Office.
CPR/First Aid certified.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Bilingual a plus but not necessary.
Working Conditions:
Extensive travel by vehicle.
Significant work at construction job sites, during all stages, in all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to perform activities requiring use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing and stooping.
Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication.
Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details.
