Safety Manager

COMPANY OVERVIVEW:

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.

·Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short- and long-term strategic safety planning and development.

·Create and implement workplace safety plans and procedures.

·Ensure all locations are compliant with OSHA regulations.

·Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.

·Evaluate health and safety practices and procedures for risk assessment and follow all legal guidelines.

·Conduct accident prevention training and incidents to find cause and take prevention measures for further incidents.

·Monitor employee conformity to safety laws and policies, train on injury/illness reporting.

·Conduct and coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.

·Responsible for Tier 2 filings, storm water permits and training and other state and local environmental compliance training.

·Ensure all employees are up to date on training requirements.

·Suggest solutions, improvements, and prevention steps for safety issues.

·Travel up to 50%

QUALIFICATIONS:

·Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

·Minimum 5-7 years of progressive field safety experience

·Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT/FMCSA)

·Ability to work without direct supervision in an independent atmosphere.
