LOCATION:

Oshkosh, WI

Position summary:

This position oversees all aspects of safety to include glass and paint worksites, shops, offices and company owned/leased vehicles. Responsibilities include adherence to all government regulations, meeting all training requirements, follow through on all safety related issues, projects and communication. Other duties include OSHA reporting and tracking.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct safety audits of job sites and facilities to identify and resolve any unsafe working conditions or practices. Overnight travel may be necessary at times.

  • Conduct safety training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulations, including new hire, annual, follow up and heavy equipment.

  • Maintain safety training records and safety related reports.

  • Communicate effectively among all levels of the organization and also with vendors, customers and all governmental agencies / officials.

  • Facilitate safety committee meetings.

  • Investigate injury reports in a timely fashion to ensure any injured parties receive medical attention as appropriate and ensure any corrective action is taken as necessary.

  • Manage workers compensation claims, oversee claims management and facilitate the return to work program.

  • Manage the Hazardous Communications and SDS programs.

  • Communicate Safety, Health and Environmental related information to all employees using venues such as Tool Box Talks, leading corporate stretching sessions, newsletters, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3-5 years related management experience in the construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience- Required.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Strong Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Required
  • Working knowledge of DOT, MSHA and WI Workers Compensation regulations
  • Preferred
  • Working knowledge of all first aid, CPR and industrial/construction emergency procedures
  • Preferred
  • Proficient in the use of PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Preferred.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, e-mail and telephone communication
  • Required.
  • Ability to communicate, promote and manage change professionally throughout all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work independently and/or within a team.

  • Advanced time management and organizational skill and be able to prioritize and multi-task.

  • Quality conscious with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to details.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work extra hours as projects and workloads require.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls.

  • Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
