The Safety Manager is responsible for administering the project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Candidate at a minimum must have an active Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credentials and 5 years of heavy civil construction experience (HCCE) preferred or a BCSP and CHST with 10 yrs of HCCE.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform frequent audits of all work areas. Provide safety expertise in response to all identified deficiencies and requests for safety assistance.

  • Prepare professional reports, conduct safety briefings, act as company spokesperson for all safety issues, and research and answer all safety questions and concerns.

  • Resolve all safety issues and provide emergency response as needed that arise from customers, employees, and company managers.

  • Develop and implement safety program elements, as needed, to comply with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform comprehensive, in-depth investigations of all injury and loss incidents, identify all causal factors, develop and implement measures to prevent recurrence, and follow up to ensure long-term resolution

  • Conduct safety training, testing and record keeping for all employees (HazCom, Fall Protection, Energized Electrical Work, Lockout/Tag out, etc.)

  • Coordinate with company management team and customer agencies to ensure all safety requirements are identified, communicated to employees, and fulfilled

  • Manage the safety program budget, planning, acquiring, controlling, and distributing all safety equipment, supplies, and training aids

  • Responsible for injury case management; coordination with insurance representatives and vendors

  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field required

  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification

  • CPR First Aid Certification

  • OSHA 500 Certification preferred

  • Professional Safety Certification (i.e.: Construction Health & Safety Tech (CHST) preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of safety construction experience. Can be combination of training, education, and relevant work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures is essential

  • Thorough understanding of all federal, state and local regulations

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow- up skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

TRAVEL:
10 25%

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings. Environmental conditions will vary

  • Noise level varies based on location

  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.

A minority and veteran-owned business, we at RBT are a close-knit team looking to add additional experienced professionals to help grow the company to the next level!</p> <p>Our Specialties: Mixed Use, Multi-Family Residential, Commercial-Industrial, Design Build, Control Systems, Education, Underground Dry Utilities, Underground Directional Drilling, Tenant Improvements, Solar System and Electric Vehicle Charging Systems</p> <p>Position Location: Due to recent growth, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager to be based out of our Anaheim office.</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a variety of project type and size including mixed use, multifamily and commercial preferably with experience working within both smaller and larger firms and hiring, training and mentoring a Project Management team.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage 3-5 projects simultaneously</li> <li>Regularly participate in pre-bid job site inspections, project related pre- and post-bid meetings; job start up, progress, and closeout meetings</li> <li>Determine scope of assigned projects, job objectives, schedules, budget considerations, and personnel assignments</li> <li>Provide direction to planning, scheduling and engineering functions</li> <li>Act as a liaison between both internal and external members including, but not limited to: General Contractors, Subcontractors, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors and vendors</li> <li>Schedule, assign, and direct the work of project staff</li> <li>Maintain positive financial posture for projects and monitor cost analysis on a regular basis</li> <li>Review and provide management and technical support and approval or contract requirements and documents prior to initiating the work, in negotiating contracts, change orders and scope detail</li> <li>Create systems and have an advanced level of knowledge in job costing</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations and cost estimates</li> <li>Create construction budgets from a detailed cost estimate</li> <li>Buy major equipment and material from vendors</li> <li>Create purchase orders</li> <li>Manage cost code field material requests and coordinate delivery to field</li> <li>Coordinate with General Contractors to resolve field issues</li> <li>Track and manage project costs and change orders weekly</li> <li>Estimate project change order pricing</li> <li>Work with Foremen to complete project on budget and on time</li> <li>Participate in the development and implementation of department standards and procedures</li> <li>Coordinate project manpower requirements and identify and correct labor inefficiencies/cost over-runs</li> <li>Create and update RBT construction schedules</li> <li>Respond to all project email in a timely and professional manner</li> <li>Electronically file all project correspondence</li> <li>Track the approval process of major equipment through the submittal process</li> <li>Prepare weekly cash flow projection for each project</li> <li>Bring insights into RBT’s CTC procedure and improve job cost report</li> <li>Bring more structure to field process and procedures</li> <li>Be a Brand Ambassador for RBT</li> <li>Achieve three RBT points on success on each project - Safety, Budget and Customer Service</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of Electrical Project Management preferred – bid & design build commercial electrical projects</li> <li>Exposure to multi-family, commercial and military projects (3M+) experience preferred</li> <li>Degree in Construction Management or Business preferred</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Good organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task</li> <li>Team player, ability to recognize how individual actions affect the team as a whole</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast paced environment, flexible and adaptable to change</li> <li>Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance</li> <li>Discretion in decision making process and maintaining of strict confidentiality</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft, Accubid, and Spectrum software (EDIT)</li> <li>Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment</li> <li>Ability to identify prefab opportunities</li> </ul> <p>Thank you for considering joining our team!
