Assists in directing and coordinating all safety and health related activities for the Wilson, NC facility as well as the development, implementation, and facilitation of safety programs.
Assists department and plant management in achieving their safety and business objectives including; promotes and supports the facility's line driven safety process. Assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety management system.
This includes being a contributing resource to the Safety and Health Manager and the line organization. Coordinates all industrial hygiene related activities including medical surveillance, air monitoring, noise, hazard communication, laser, ventilation, radiation, chemical approval, etc. Coordinates all safety related activities, such as the Safety Design Process Program, including machine and process risk assessment and new/modified equipment safety release, Contractor Safety Program, including contractor auditing and education, and New Hire Safety Orientation, including providing training for newly hired teammates.
Coordinates the facility's fire prevention programs, including routine inspections/testing and issuance of hot work permits acts as the Company liaison with the property insurance carrier and local fire authorities. Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related field plus 1-3 years full time safety and health experience; or Master's Degree in Safety Management or related field plus 0-2 years safety and health experience. ASP preferred.
