POSITION: Safety Director
BASIC FUNCTIONS: The role of the Safety Director includes, but is not limited to, working closely with Skyline Teammates to promote safety as a value. The successful candidate will lead the drive towards continuous improvement in safety culture, performance and safety systems. The Safety Director will interpret and practically apply regulatory and consensus standards (OSHA, NFPA, NRC, etc.), develop and update policies and procedures, conduct and document incident investigations, safety inspections/audits, develop action plans and follow up, and conduct safety training. This position requires working scheduled and unscheduled overtime, overnight travel, and the ability to be on call 24/7 to respond to safety needs at multiple locations across several states.
Minimum 3years safety experience in an industrial setting
Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes on short notice
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA including standards, protocols and compliance procedures
BS Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent
Familiarity working within an OHSAS 18001 program
First Responder / EMT certification
Industrial Hygiene, Behavior-Based Safety and Worker's Compensation experience
Safety training experience and certification (30-hour, fall protection, LOTO, etc.)
OSHA Voluntary Protection Program experience
Experience administering safety programs to multi-state locations
Safety Acumen: Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and State safety and health regulations and the ability to put this knowledge to work in an industrial setting.

Integrity: Building relationships and trust with the team to promote doing the right thing and being held accountable for actions.
Communication: Effectively communicate ideas and tasks individually and in group settings through oral / written means

Initiative: Ability to be a self-starter to focus on details, organize, plan and lead multiple activities and projects
