TrinityRail Maintenance Services is hiring a Safety Coordinator in our Jonesboro, AR office! We provide a complete array of railcar maintenance services.

This person will lead the Environmental, Health and Safety function to enable general and functional management to meet Trinity's Environmental management policy. They will also lead a team of individual contributors responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs, processes and policies to safeguard employees, the public and to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.

2nd Shift (Sunday - Thursday, 6:00 PM - 6:30AM)

What you'll do:

  • Implement established safety & environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations

  • Coordinate and monitor Corporate and BU safety & environmental programs

  • Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc. as they apply to the safety program

  • Provide training to enable effective operation of the established safety systems

  • Initiate documents and monitor corrective actions to adherence to safety programs

  • Collect information and build required and/or requested reports

  • Collaborate with employees to resolve safety issues and techniques

  • Build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers

  • Solve a range of straightforward problems; analyze possible solutions using standard procedures

  • Require knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills

  • Use judgment within defined procedures and practices to figure out the appropriate action

  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors

  • May lead small projects and/or projects with minimal complexity

  • Will serve as resource for other departments as needed

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety or similar field preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of all state and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, environment, and worker's compensation or ability to acquire quickly

  • Advanced computer literacy with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required

  • First Aid/Responder or EMT certification preferred

  • Certified Safety Professional certification preferred

  • Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate complete and timely reports

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 20 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. # # # # JOB SUMMARY The Patient Safety Officer for St. Bernards Healthcare has the responsibility, accountability and strategic direction for the patient safety program and provides the leadership in developing a culture of safety and in identifying opportunities and initiatives to enhance patient safety. The PSO develops strategic and operational plans that build upon the present patient safety program to assure St. Bernards continues to be innovative and world renowned in its approaches to patient safety. An integral component in implementing this visionary approach is to proactively address patient safety issues utilizing data, information from Safety Committee, Executive Rounding and other reports to analyze issues and determine their root causes. Working collaboratively with the executive team, other administrative staff, medical and nursing staff to develop strategies to minimize incidents is of utmost importance. Through collaboration and partnerships with staff, the PSO develops programs and services that produce measurable improvements in processes and practices that affect patient safety. This should result in a decrease of incidents, costs and severity levels of hospital incidents. The position directs the Blood Management Program and serves as the organization#s Transfusion Safety Officer. The Program Director will lead the development of the vision and the creation of a Clinical Efficiency Program, serving as the leader liaison with the physician organization and coordinating with the administrative leaders. The Director will lead and manage all operational aspects of the CEP including the development of quality goals, performance monitoring and improvement, program communication, staff and physician education, budget development and management, and implementation and maintenance of IT systems. They also serve as the Patient Safety Officer. Routinely assigns and responsibly directs staff.
