Safety Coordinator Needed (Northern VA)
Large manufacturing warehouse is looking for a Safety Coordinator to join their team.

The Safety Coordinator assists in the process of developing and enhancing safety policies and procedures; monitoring and communicating loss trends leading efforts to improve these trends, and mitigate losses from worker injuries and auto related incidents.

The Safety Coordinator keeps track of required safety plans, audits, and training requirements and ensures that plans and inspections are completed and up to date.

Safety coordinators should be well-versed in all OSH dictations. Your work will be focused on prevention so you need to be diligent and analytical. You will possess a keen eye for detail and a sensitivity for potential dangers.
The goal is to support the creation of a healthy and safe workplace.

Job Requirements

Proven experience as safety coordinator or similar
In-depth knowledge of OSH guidelines and practices
Experience in reporting and developing policies
Experience in implementing OSH training programs
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent communication and advisory skills
Diligent with an analytical mind
Bachelor's degree in the Environmental, Health, and Safety related discipline or Equivalent

Experience: At least 3 Years' Experience working in a safety management role in a manufacturing environment.

VIEW JOBS 11/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-10T00:00 Facebook's Public Policy Team is looking for a Safety Policy Manager to work in tandem with our public policy and policy programs teams for North America in analyzing, responding to and strategically managing safety policy issues and programmatic responses in North America as part of the company's global safety policy and safety programs efforts. Successful candidates will have the skills and experience to identify and analyze safety policy risks and issues, and develop and execute effective responses. Candidates should have a background and interest in online safety policy, the proven ability to evaluate the public and safety policy implications of our policies, products and features, a proficiency in presenting publicly to a variety of audiences, including policymakers, the proven ability to build needed relationships with key advocacy groups, policymakers, academics, and researchers, as well as experience overseeing, building and executing policy programs. Candidates should be dedicated, detail oriented, creative, resourceful, analytical, and knowledgeable about technology policy issues, and have experience in developing and executing high-profile technology, corporate and/or political campaign efforts. This is a full-time position located in Washington, DC. RESPONSIBILITIES * Identify and analyze policy risks, trends, and issues in North America and share learnings with all teams involved in policy mission in region and across the company as you aid them in strategic planning, analyzing and responding to related legislative and regulatory initiatives, the development and implementation of safety-related policy programs and the influencing of policy in coordination with local policy leads in the market. Provide feedback on the potential impact within North America of our policies, products, and features, to ensure safety issues are appropriately considered in their development, and assist with landing of the same among policymakers, thought leaders, advocates and civil society. Assist in the development, maintenance, and deepening of relationships with NGOs, academic experts and other stakeholders so as to cultivate expert resources and third party advocates needed by public policy, programs, communications, and other teams throughout Facebook. Work cross-functionally with communications, public policy, marketing, product policy, security ops, engineering and programs to elevate influencer knowledge and understanding of all the work being done to ensure the online safety of our community, with particular emphasis on developing safety programs events, and presentations needed by the public policy managers in their efforts to influence policy. Present at selected major safety events and at online safety related meetings with policymakers as needed to communicate Facebook's efforts regarding youth and family online safety, as well as develop and reinforce Facebook's reputation as a leader in online safety. Willingness to travel and to handle calls during different time zones.
