Your responsibilities The first 3 letters in workplace safety are Y-O-U! thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator in Denver, CO. Assist in coordinating, building and maintaining a safety culture within the region to eliminate injuries, reduce workers' compensation costs, improve safety performance & awareness, and elevate regulatory compliance with OSHA and EPA Essential Duties and

  • Support safety improvements and reporting by organizing, analyzing and distributing safety data for the Business Unit (BU) and the regional and global teams

  • Provide safety communications to the BU through use of all available media to include our internal safety website and BU platforms

  • Be a part of the safety team that develops and implements safety manuals, processes and tool box talks

  • Work with corporate for the creation and development of industry specific safety apps for our BU

  • Conduct safety audits and training as part of our proactive program to educate and coach field employees and field leadership for continued improvement in our safety culture

  • Conduct accident, incident and near miss investigations

  • Assist with Worker's Compensation accident filing and OSHA logs

  • Other tasks as required to support safety improvements

  • Ability to implement the principles and practices of occupational safety and health including industrial hygiene and environmental protection programs

  • Understanding of OSHA general industry and/or construction standards, EPA regulations and related state statutes/regulations or local ordinances

  • Ability to provide employee training using multiple delivery methods and media

  • Ability to conduct a "root cause" analysis and report findings using multiple platforms, e.g. Excel.

  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication to individuals and groups of various sizes who possess a wide range of language skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals in a wide range of situations, circumstances and settings as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce to achieve stated HSE objectives

  • Ability to operate a computer effectively and the ability to use Microsoft Office products and other software applications effectively to manage information

  • Ability to act appropriately in emergency/stressful situations

  • Ability to interpret and effectively communicate technical documents such as Job Safety Analysis to workers, visitors and any other appropriate personnel

  • Helps ensure that regions are in compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate safety policies

  • Track record and review safety related incidents and report incident data to corporate safety department

  • Develop and document Job Hazard Analysis to assist with work processes

  • Review and track safety audits and safety action plans

  • Delivering training and procedures to Safety Teams

  • Work with vendors to standardize and reduce cost of Personal Protective Equipment

  • Lead safety projects and safety training

  • Coordinate the Worker's Compensation claim submissions and data management

  • Oversee first aid and/or medical treatment as needed

  • Must have excellent communication skills

  • Must be proficient in excel for reporting purposes

Your profile Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, someone who speaks clearly with transparency

  • 1+ year(s) safety coordination/tech background with general industry experience preferred i.e.; Construction Facility Maintenance, General Construction, and/or Elevator or Military experience (all branches)

  • Ability to work independently, while communicating with other Safety Team Members as required or needed

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Travel required, on average 50%. Must be capable of traveling throughout the Region in support of thyssenkrupp elevator Americas US safety program


  • Must have H.S. Diploma

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 + years of past experience as a Safety Coordinator or other Safety Position
  • 1+ year(s) of proven experience in conducting risk assessments and analysis (ex: JHA and PPE)
