This position will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with federal and state safety laws, OSHA and DOT, as well as compliance with company regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Maintain files and documentation of compliance activities, such as driver qualification files, medical and drug testing, TWIC, training, EOBR's, driver's HOS, DVIR's, etc.
2.File appropriate compliance reports internally and with regulatory agencies
3.Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues
4.Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation
5.Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized management staff personnel as appropriate
6.Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities
7.Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed
8.Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities
9.Verify that all company and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
10. Effectively communicate with drivers and other internal staff
11. Bring energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the department
12. Administrative support to the department
13. Additional tasks as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Previous transportation compliance experience required
Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations required
Strong organization and communication skills
Efficient in Microsoft Suite
