We are seeking an Safety Assistant Team Lead for Dollywood Resorts who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand.

The right Safety Assistant Team Lead checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

This role exists to assist the Team Lead with leadership for the Dollywood Company First Aid Team. Duties include staffing and upkeep of the First Aid offices, training & performance evaluations of all team members, scheduling, collection and filing of Host/Guest medical information, and maintaining a healthy, efficient, and effective work environment. All of this will be done in a manner consistent with the mission, values and operating philosophies and standards of the Dollywood Company.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Lead First Aid Team in treatment of injured/ill Hosts or Guests in emergency and non-emergency situations, determining through a thorough patient assessment if a patient is able to remain on park or at work with medical treatment as stated in approved protocols.

  • Ensure all First Aid Team treatment of Guests/Hosts is provided under the outlined standard of care which may be subject to review by the Dollywood Medical Director (See Medical Protocols).

  • Assist Team Lead in all First Aid Team training documents are accurately completed, filed, and accessible for auditing.

  • Ensure First Aid Team provides accurate, clear, and concise documentation in written reports.

  • Maintain and ensure staff maintains confidentiality of patient and Park information and follow HIPPA guidelines.

  • Utilize positive verbal communication skills with Hosts, Guests and outside medical service providers.

  • Keep work area clean, stocked and ready for use at all times.

  • Assist Team Lead/ 101 PIC in triage and/or park evacuation as needed.

  • Implement training plan to ensure First Aid Team is familiar with all areas of the Park including exit gates and back entrances to rides and inside buildings in the event of an emergency.

  • Be proficient in and implement training plan for ride evacuations.

  • Assist Team Lead in implementing training plan for Health and Safety Evaluations, drug and alcohol screening, job fairs, filing medical information, and other special tasks as needed.

  • Assist Team Lead with Health and Safety Evaluations, contacting Hosts whose forms are incomplete. If items listed raise concern in regards to their ability to safely perform job functions, inform First Aid Manager/Director.

  • Assist and serve as Unit 101 as scheduled.

  • Assist the First Aid Team Lead in the selection process for new EMT/Paramedics.

  • Assist Team Lead in hiring, training, scheduling, coaching and evaluating EMT/Paramedics according to approved procedures.

  • Ensure team training plans are up to date.

  • Ensure inventory and control of all safety equipment and tracking of Dollywood first aid equipment.

  • Ensure AEDs are serviced on an annual basis.

  • Respond to all significant/critical calls requiring more than 1 station, as available.

  • Ensure that all incident reports (Guest and Host) are completed in Origami on date of incident.

  • Ensure daily review of Origami for accurate input by First Aid Team.

  • Ensure all documentation needed by the EMT/Paramedic is in place and organized in a professional manner.

Assist Team Lead in monthly training and maintain records for the EMT/Paramedics.

  • Able to display and live out our Lead with Love principles by being: patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

  • Able to hear, see and speak.

  • Able to speak, read and write English.

  • Able to smile and make eye contact to make a friendly impression when greeting guests, vendors and other employees.

  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.

  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods.

  • Able to maintain good personal hygiene.

  • Able to get along with other employees to work out problems and resolve conflicts.

  • Able to comprehend instructions and retain information.

  • Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Available to work at least 5 days/week and at least 40 hours/week required.

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities.

  • Able to prioritize tasks and complete assignments on time.

  • Able to work in temperatures of 0 to 140 degrees.

  • Able to work outdoors.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, bend, reach high and low, twist and balance, negotiate elevated catwalks, walk, run, climb, walk up and down steep inclines or steps.

  • Must be able to wear a full body fall protection harness & carry safety equipment in order to negotiate ride catwalks, lifts, platforms and others areas necessary to complete ride and building evacuations at heights of up to 200 feet.

  • Must be able to move, carry and/or lift equipment up to 25 lbs. alone.

  • Must be able to lift patients that may be over 200 lbs. with assistance from other Hosts.

  • Must have depth perception and adequate or corrected vision.

  • Must hold valid TN Driver's License with current automobile insurance and drive company vehicles as required

  • Must be able to work in all types of weather including temperature extremes, rain, sleet, snow, low and high humidity, sunny, dusty and dry conditions and working around various allergens such as pollen.

  • Must be able to tolerate and use chemicals such as cleaning supplies.

Education and Experience Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Current TN State EMT-A or Paramedic license required.

  • At least three years of field experience required as an EMT-A or Paramedic

  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen

  • Basic computer skills required, to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint

  • Ability to learn and utilize online scheduling program required

  • Previous experience as full-time year round Dollywood First Aid Team Member preferred

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
