We are hiring a Safety Assistant to support our Safety Department; this role requires a general understanding of maintaining files, monthly reporting to senior leadership, and additional assignments as needed. Imperial Dade is one of the largest providers in Distribution in the United States, it operates in over 30 states and 100+ locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This candidate will collaborate regularly with our transportation and warehouse managers, safety team, and other parties on special assignments. Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provides various reports, including safety trends. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Create reports and assist with presentations.

  • Assist operational staff with the implementation of recommended safety measures.

  • Conduct audits to ensure hazards are addressed and proper procedures, tools, and ppe are being used.

  • Assist in implementing safety plans to improve health and safety in the workplace and monitor staff to ensure that they are being followed.

  • Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, and related events

  • Assist with the completion of incident reports and provide recommendations to minimize risks and practice emergency drills.

  • Assist in the Investigation of incidents involving injury or property damage to ensure reports are completed and updated as needed.

  • Assist in Implementing company safety incentive programs.

  • Coordinate site safety inspections for compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.

  • Administrative Office Experience Required

  • Ensure information is accurately received and communicated to the various departments.

  • Provide services and resources as needed.

  • Perform other related tasks as required by management.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Superior communication skills are essential for success in this role.

  • A strong attention to detail is necessary.

  • Solid writing skills are an asset.

  • Sound computer skills

  • A strong work ethic and time management skills in order to efficiently handle a large caseload.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
