Safety Assistant III

HOW A SAFETY ASSISTANT III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

Conduct shipboard monitoring and evaluation of installation efforts identify hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions which may harm our employees.

Collaborate with employees and teams to increase the understanding of regulations. Help find solutions to challenging obstacles which are ever present while working onboard ships.

Our teams work in private and Naval ship building and ship repair facilities around the world creating challenging work environments while understanding the various rules and regulations in each location we work.

You will report findings on a daily basis to installation leadership, project management teams, and government agencies to identify and address situations which affect our employees ability to accomplish work safely.

Your skills as an experienced Safety Inspector can help mold future generations working in ship repair to ensure our nation is able to maintain a high state of readiness and most importantly, the safety of our employees.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science in Occupational health and safety.

Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience

Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent Communication Skills, Computer proficiency, must be able to work in challenging shipyard environments,

Preferred Skills: Near Miss, Accident, and Incident investigation; Job Hazard Analysis, Shipyard Competent Person (SCP), OSHA 5410 - Maritime Standards, OSHA 3115 - Fall Protection, OSHA 3095 - Electrical Standards, OSHA 521 - Industrial Hygiene
