POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a self-motivated, versatile team member who possesses strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a track record of leadership and continuous learning as well as a desire to take an active role in the regulatory supervision of banks and holding companies in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District. This position will be assigned to the Safety and Soundness division of the Banking Supervision department to assist primarily in the examination of community banks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in supervisory activities including financial and risk management analysis. Verifies adherence to laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and commitments. Confers with bank personnel to gather information and communicates any issues that arise during supervisory activities, including conclusions and regulatory ratings for specific factors, to examination leadership. Assists in post-supervisory activities by compiling, analyzing, writing, and proofreading portions of examination reports.

  • Successful candidates will begin the Examiner Commissioning Program. All examiners participate in on-going training to acquire knowledge and improve skills related to banking and banking supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field required

  • Relevant credit, banking, audit, or bank regulatory experience preferred

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements

WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; flexibility or additional hours may be required.

  • Overnight travel expected about 25%-50% of the time.

Notes:

  • This position will be located in the Dallas office.

  • Position may be filled as either an Assistant Examiner, Associate Examiner, or Sr. Associate Examiner depending upon the experience and qualifications of the applicant.

  • Employment is contingent upon the selected candidate passing a financial credit check.

  • By federal law, this position requires that candidates fall within one of the following citizenship categories: (1) U.S. citizen, (2) U.S. national, (3) U.S. permanent residents who are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization, or (4) U.S. permanent residents who have applied for naturalization within six months of being eligible to do so.

TRAINING PROGRAM: * Successful candidates will begin the Federal Reserve System Examiner Commissioning Program, which is comprehensive training designed to provide an examiner with all the skills necessary to effectively lead an examination at a typical community bank. * An examiner is eligible to be considered for commissioning after completion of a series of courses, successfully passing a written examination, and the demonstration of job-related proficiency.
