Jasco is looking for a Safety and Security Coordinator that will:

Safety

  • To help ensure compliance with federal and state health and safety standards, stay current with safety documentation, safety program materials, safety training materials, etc.

  • To identify and prioritize safety goals and establish a Jasco Safety Program to achieve each goal.

  • Coordinate all logistics including scheduling, presentation development, and record keeping for safety meetings, trainings, and programs.

  • Develop and compile data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for all incidents, employee attendance trends, staffing levels, department budgets, and expenses.

  • To maintain updates to health and safety processes, issues and policies.

  • To ensure that managers, supervisors and team members are aware through training activities that they are responsible for the prevention of workplace accidents. Preform incident investigations using formal process with focus on root cause. Inform and educate Team Members, Managers, and Coordinators about research findings for preventive and corrective actions.

  • To help make health and safety activities an integral part of the organization's operating procedures, culture and programs.

  • To provide an opportunity for discussion of health and safety problems and possible solutions.

  • To inform and educate team members, managers and supervisors about health and safety issues and research findings, etc.

  • Collaborate with DC Success Coach on daily forklift inspections and equipment training for new hires as well as cross training.

  • To assist facilities team in inspecting equipment (i.e. air compressors, conveyors, electrical panels, forklifts, fire systems, geothermal systems, hot water tanks, wrappers, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Oversee comprehensive lockout / tagout program.

  • Coordinate tornado and fire drills.

  • Perform monthly building inspections and emergency system testing.

  • Coordinate service and maintenance of AEDs and first aid kits.

  • Oversee all safety aspects of construction, renovation and equipment repairs on-site.

  • Coordinates with Facility Manager for utility, facility or other shut-down activities that can affect operations. Works adjusted schedule when needed.

  • To perform other related duties as required.

Security

  • Develop, implement, manage, and oversee administrative functions and tasks within the Security Department.

  • Ensure there is always sufficient armed security guard coverage for the campus. Lead communications with the third-party vendor who provides armed security guards.

  • Assist lead armed security guard in training new hires or alternates.

  • First point of contact and responder for any security service-related issues / inquiries (i.e. armed security guards, access, burglary, fire, CCTV, etc.). Communicate positively and professionally with staff and vendors.

  • Collaborate with other departments to stay compliant with C-TPAT and FTZ and ensure third party armed security guards are adhering to these policies at all times.

  • To help ensure security measures are always maintained on-site and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis. Works adjusted schedule when needed.

  • To perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Industrial Environmental, Occupational Science, or related field required.

  • Minimum of three years of experience preferred.

  • OSHA certifications or Safety Association training or membership(s) considered a plus.

  • Knowledge of diverse safety and security programs and solutions.

  • Must be highly self-motivated and driven to comprehensively assess campus and provide clear recommendations on best practices and possible corrective action items for both safety and security.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate closely with Facilities Manager, Team Member Services and Operations as well as other departments and contractors.

  • Clear communication and coordination with Facilities Manager ensuring important information is relayed in a timely manner and updates provided.

  • Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • The position is located in an office and warehouse environment.

  • The position may be exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards. Must be comfortable and able to work on mezzanines / platforms, a ladder of 20 feet, scissor lift of 40 feet, stand-up / sit-down forklift, rider pallet jack, operate a baler, compactor, sweeper, scrubber and be able to work independently without direct supervision.

  • Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl, and reach for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally.
