About Our Job
This job application will close on Monday, August 5th. Please apply as soon as possible in order to be considered.
The City has purchased a Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (ROCIP), a program whereby the City procures the insurance covering all contractors (including subcontractors of all tiers) working on our large construction projects (National Western Center, Convention Center, Elevate Denver Bond projects, 16th Street Mall renovation). The program requires all contractors (including subcontractors of all tiers) to enroll, complete site-specific safety plans, provide workplace safety training, and pre-hire drug testing, among other responsibilities.
We are looking to hire an individual to assist with managing and administering the ROCIP program. This ROCIP Coordinator will be the liaison between our agencies, contractors, workplace safety representatives, insurance carriers and insurance broker. The successful candidate will ensure all contractors are enrolled, site specific safety plans are received/approved, and employees have been property screened and trained (pre-employment drug testing and safety training).
For all lines included in the ROCIP (Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Excess Liability, Contractors Pollution, and Builders' Risk), they will verify proper bids received by the contractors (with insurance removed), approval of certificates of insurance for lines not covered by the ROCIP, draft insurance requirements for ROCIP contracts, attend pre-proposal meetings to provide potential contractors an overview of the insurance requirements on our construction jobs, provide notification of claims to the insurance carrier, and assist with claims handling for all lines. They will work with the ROCIP Workplace Safety Administrator to coordinate monthly and quarterly claims reviews (all lines) and assist with workplace safety audits in various locations throughout the City.
We are looking for a collaborative and optimistic individual who enjoys building relationships and working with all levels of an organization to join our team. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong leadership qualities, the ability to influence others, and communicate effectively with employees, peers and leadership.
Our ideal candidate will have the following:

Bachelor's degree in industrial or Environmental Health and Safety, Risk Management, or Finance
Certified Safety Professional
OSHA 500 construction safety training certification
