Grade: 35/36Job Duties:
  • Provides safety and health support to assign branch or capital project and to SHE Branch.
  • Integrates safety issues and requirements into all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.
  • Has technical responsibility for interpreting complex requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate safety engineering principles into scopes of work, plans, and methodologies suitable for achieving and maintaining compliance with safety requirements.
  • Provides safety training requirements, Working at heights, LOTO, Confined Space, New Hire Orientation
  • Leads/Participates in SHE inspections and walk downs.
  • Drafts comprehensive SHE plans, project specific risk reduction plans, safety awareness training programs, and technical reports
  • Work with area personnel (craft and supervision) to develop and implement safety improvement/process tools.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in a specialized scientific field (e.g., safety, industrial engineering, public health) and 7 to 10 years of progressive and relevant work experience in the discipline performing the responsibilities listed above or any equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive and relevant experience.
  • US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in a safety specialty (e.g., Personal Protective Equipment, lockout/tagout, fall protection, excavation, People Based Safety) or engineering (e.g., civil, process safety, system safety, mechanical) or related disciplines of the principles and fundamentals of quality best practices tools and processes.
  • Understanding of safety management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies permitting processes and responsibilities, engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.
