Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303

Under general supervision, provides treatment services to the seriously mentally ill Adult population and/or Children, Adolescents, and their Families. Provides intensive services for children and adolescents in the community who are at risk out-of-home placement due to disruptive behaviors. Supervises day-to-day operations and provides clinical supervision and oversite to the Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy team.

Responsibilities of the Mental Health Professional II include but are not limited to:

• Oversees the daily operations of the Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (NDFT) team.

• Provides mental health services in a culturally competent manner which will include but limited to assessment, crisis management, individual therapy, group therapy.

• Gathers and submits outcome data in compliance with all Apartanburg area MHC, QA, DMH, and CARF policies and procedures.

• Ensures that caseload standards are met.

• Participates as an active member of a clinical team.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements:

A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field professional experience in a mental health, human service. or social service program.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with adolescents and families.

Bilingual abilities I English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
