Reporting to Intake Referral Manager the Clerical Intake Specialist is responsible for the intake and disposition of all incoming client/patient#referrals.
Associates Degree or equivalent 3 to 5 years Medical setting, preferably Home Health LNA or MA or equivalent experience preferred Strong computer skills and previous experience working in an organization with customer service focus Responsibilities: Initiates referral documentation of a pre-determined set of data elements in the EMR from all referral sources and assigns to the appropriate next person in the referral management process. Manages all incoming calls to the Intake Department and ensures a response on or before the third ring. Ensures consistent and timely initial communication regarding referrals occurs within the Intake Department and with all service lines. Collaborates and communicates with the Billing Office to maintain updated information regarding payer contracts and related requirements affecting verification/authorization. Demonstrates a high degree of commitment to customer service and quality care provision. Assists in determination of valid physician licenses for referring physicians per agency policy. Appropriately utilizes the Intake Referral Manager for obstacle or difficulties. Demonstrates knowledge of and consistent application at all times of patient rights to confidentiality. Applies effective, respectful, and positive verbal and written communication methods in the daily work setting to promote a collaborative work environment with all departments within Exeter Health Resource. Demonstrates ability to perform all assigned functions related to the Intake Department according to established procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
