Job Summary:

Summary:

Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of residents/patients.

Administers medications and treatments and documents per facility policy.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Administers treatments/medications as ordered by physician, and documents same and closely monitors effectiveness.

  • Performs comprehensive assessment of resident/patient including development, implementation and evaluation of a written plan of care for each resident/patient.

  • Monitors care being rendered to patient/resident by LPN & CNA (including agency staff) to ensure that all personnel are providing care to the resident as stated by the plan of care and facility policy.

  • Actively participates in the Patient Satisfaction program. Monitors staff interaction, keeps patient and families advised of patient/resident progress and response to care plan during their shift . Complies with Virtua Star Standards of Performance.

  • Responds to emergencies, assess, evaluates and confers with a physician triaging patient appropriate level of care.

  • Educates patient/resident and family/responsible party regarding individual care and needs, safety issues, etc.

  • Practices universal precautions and adheres to facility policy with regard to spread of infections.

  • Maintains department level competencies and participates in performance improvement activities.

Required Education:

Graduate from accredited school of Nursing.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Current NJ RN License.

Position Responsibilities: * Demonstrates leadership and implements nursing operating plan. * Works effectively with interdisciplinary team, or those outside formal line of authority, to participate in setting and accomplishing organizational goals. * Serves as team leader, builder, contributor and influencer who maximizes performance in others. * Oversees, coordinates and facilitates the clinical operations of the facility implementing shared governance and relationship based care in all departments as assigned by the Administrator. * Insures achievement of patient satisfaction goals and instills goal achievement in all nursing staff. * Oversees the performance improvement, safety and infection control programs for the nursing department and assists the Administrator with other departments as assigned. * Provides guidance and leadership in meeting DHSS and Joint Commission standards of care and CMS standards of quality. * Allocates and manages resources necessary to fulfill plan. * Monitors progress against plan and budget and takes action to stay within budget or to consciously reduce costs or takes correction action as needed. * Adheres to Nursing hours per day defined in budget.
