Position Function and Scope:

The Foodservice Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales objectives consistent with corporate volume and profit targets. The RSM directs and manages broker planning and execution against volume, distribution and pricing objectives. The RSM is the primary communication link between the broker, customer and Del Monte Foods, and is responsible to act as the primary communication source to ensure that appropriate resources are available to guarantee successful execution of Del Monte Foodservice programs.

Primary Responsibilities:
1.Strategic Planning

Provide strategic input, reflect marketplace and customer requirements into the Foodservice AOP/marketing planning process. The input should focus on customer/distributor marketing strategy/tactics and result in a final plan that can be executed to achieve company objectives.
2.Market/Consumer Planning

Establish local market priorities, objectives and strategies to guide broker development of market/account plans that deliver DMF objectives within defined Corporate strategies. The RSM is responsible for the review and approval of all customer plans.
3.Sales Volume Execution

Direct and monitor broker execution to achieve key sales priorities (distribution, volume and pricing). Volume responsibility averages between 1.5-2.0 million cases annually and $23-29 million annually.
4.Resource Deployment

Facilitate appropriate levels of internal and external DMF resources to be prioritized and deployed against strategic customers to achieve business objectives. The Region Manager will coordinate the utilization of multi-functional resources as needed for strategic accounts.
5.Trade Spending

Manage trade spending to insure DMF funds are effectively utilized in a fair and equitable manner consistent with Foodservice strategies. Monitor broker and customer activity to assess the impact of DMF marketing programs and make appropriate recommendations.
6.Customer Development

The RSM should penetrate selected accounts to develop the DMF franchise by focusing on adding value and facilitating the execution of strategic initiatives (such as, Category Management or other distribution efficiency initiatives) to

achieve an on-going competitive advantage. The RSM should challenge broker thinking to drive "outside the box" ideas that capitalize on business opportunities.
7.Broker Management and Evaluation

The RSM is responsible for managing brokers in accordance with DMF policies and procedures. Specific responsibilities include selection and retainment of a qualified business manager, training and development (involving additional DMF resources as needed), and performance evaluation, including periodic feedback on performance as well as a formal annual evaluation. The RSM should penetrate all levels of the broker operation to insure the appropriate level of qualified resources are deployed against DMF.
8.Administration

Effectively manage administrative responsibilities which include information requests, competitive intelligence, results tracking and analysis, expense reports and deduction management, etc.
9.Personal Development

The RSM should work with the Senior Manager FS Sales to assess development needs and participate in identifying the appropriate training plan which will facilitate personal and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Bachlor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university

  • 10 Plus years of FS Sales Experience (Broker) & (Direct) management
