Cenveo is seeking experienced Sheetfed 2nd Press Operator in its Richmond, VA facility. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, several years' experience in sheetfed press printing operations and proven problem-solving skills.
Exercising independent judgment, reads docket to ensure all activities pertaining to press for 6-color and CD stockboard press are correct.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ensures ink, paper, plates, pressroom instructions, etc. are correct
Assists in the operation of all press systems
Mounts plates on press
Registers sheets into position
Adjusts fountains to get proper color on make-ready
Cleans press and cleans and installs press components to maintain press in working order
Performs preventative maintenance on presses such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and minor adjustments
Maintains and reads Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs)
Sees to the proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals
Other (Non-Essential) Functions
Includes functions which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be reassigned to other employees as part of a "Reasonable Accommodation" under the ADA.

Several years' experience in sheetfed press printing operations
Good knowledge of problem-solving process on press and of pre-press and press equipment operations and functions
Knowledge of federal and state hazardous waste handling and disposal regulations
Excellent math and color perception skills
Ability to follow and apply written/verbal instructions
Ability to work under pressure to meet short deadlines
Ability to operate press equipment and to detect malfunctions
May require working weekends and overtime
Must be able to work a 12 hour rotating shift (rotates days / nights and front end / back end of the week)
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud (hearing protection is provided). The employee is often required to sit; climb or balance; and walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Employee must have the ability to remain standing for an entire shift.
Employee must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
