As a Right of Way Specialist (Utility) you will be responsible for working with our client team to mitigate utility easement conflicts. This will be a full-time, long term position located in Bloomington, Indiana.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work with others, on the team, to gather information pertaining to the location and type of utility encroachment identified.
Perform deed and easement research to locate and verify easements and encroachments.
Prepare documentation, legal descriptions and drawings to communicate encroachment areas.
Provide technical office support utilizing Microsoft Office Tools.
Perform quality control checks of data gathered to assure complete records for each encroachment issue.
Ensure schedules and productivity objectives, set by supervisor, for preparation and resolution of work assigned.
Work within a team environment to mitigate utility easement encroachments.
Notification to all landowners regarding maintenance activities
Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders to represent the encroachment management process
Researches and settles encroachment situations
Required Experience - Education and Skills
Aptitude to learn quickly in a fast paced environment
Good verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
Computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office tools along with AutoCAD or GIS experience
Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude.
Ability to work independently within a team environment.
Pipeline or utility right of way experience. (preferred)
Knowledge of land rights and titles, survey description, legal and engineering terminology, including the ability to read and understand maps and engineering plans. (preferred)
Survey, GIS, land and easement, or gas utility experience (preferred)
